It's not the Chromebook!
Guess it's my router/modem at home!
Now what? I gotta fork out for a new one?
I'm at Bonefish and it's working fine!
Guess I'll be on with my phone tech people later.....

EDIT.....it's ok!! It's not my house and it's not my laptop!!
Just decided to try it one more time so I could tell tech support tomorrow they I'd done all I can, and it just connected right up, gave me my google mini me and here we are!
Maybe Chromebook just needed to get out of the house and connect to a different wifi? I have no idea why, but it's working....LOL.
So thanks for all the tech help you've given me!
Now we can all move on to more interesting topics....

Ok I 'm gonna admit to not being the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers but I do know that when I got a new router/modem thingy I had to put the password for it into all my wireless devices before they would connect. Have you done that with the chromebook?

If the Kindle works at home, try deleting any wifi connections on the
Chromebook that are listed, it will then find open connection at home
and then reenter password you should be good to go.

Yeah. talk to tech support. It could be as simple as a reset. There also might be a low default on limiting the number of users.

Geez, if you'd skip those fancy lunches at Bonefish you could buy another gun already! :D
I just bought one! It's not even been a week! LoL. Do you guys buy a gun a week?

Those coupon books that students sell have BOGO coupons.
Buy one, get one, but not for gun stores.:)

We've done resets and everything! Nobody has mentioned anything about user limits! Is that something I can do myself? I really hate talking to support people! Some are so nice and then I run into a real asshat!
I'm going to call them tomorrow, I'm in a good mood right now, I'd like to enjoy it!
Please tell me more about default user limits.....

One would think so, right? I tried that early on in the troubleshooting process....no dice.

Or did you want me to try it again since I've connected at Bonefish?

True. But we did get our free order of lettuce wraps at Pei Wei yesterday. I think we can get free lettuce wraps everytime we go there. And there are no other purchase requirements! I am think of ordering a water and the free wraps next time to see what they say.

Yes, I had to do it with my kindles and my printer. I've put in the SSID and password into Chromebook...doesn't work. It says I'm connected, yet when I try to get online, I get a page that says there's no connection. Highly annoying!

We certainly try. But if you can't buy a gun every week a box of ammo isn't a bad idea.
Ok on the ammo, I might be able to do that!
As far as guns, I'm only going to get a couple more....I mean, really, how many do I need? If I get 2 more, I can have one per room. That's plenty! Isn't it? LOL.

Came VERY close but was able to resist. But I am covered for the week 'cause I bought one last Wednesday (and one last Saturday at the Raleigh show). HELP!!!!!

Did you buy a gun at the show?
Was at the show with another CFF member, one who actually knows guns. We were looking at a couple "NIB" old Smiths, 39-2 and 59. In his opinion (and I'm convinced his opinion counts) neither was actually new and one had been completely refinished. Caveat emptor.

@Millie if you're not buying several a week, BATFE won't even be able to keep track of you. :(
Well, gee, I feel bad for them! But I'm sure they have more than they can handle keeping track of you guys!

Yeah, you might want to seek some help for this "problem" you got going on!

Or pay for training. Or driving to a range with one of the members. HA!
Well, sometimes you have to do lunch with your cousin and catch up on her first grandchild, right?
I paid for training Monday, and I'm open to meeting people to shoot with at Jim's in Fayetteville!
(I'll be paying for training for awhile!)

I don't do enough, but dry fire practice helps and there is no costs but your time. A great way to augment training with a professional. Research dry fire routines and get some snap caps or dry wall anchors for your guns. It will help and cost nothing. If nothing else you can prsctice your draw and a smooth slow trigger press 10 minutes a day. It may help your draw if you ever really need it.

You know what? I think I may have some .380 snap caps in my bench. If they ar still there you can have them. I gave my Dad the gun I used them with. I'll message you if I find them tomorrow, and we'll figure out a way to get them to you.

That is sooo sweet! But your Dad might want them. If you're sure you want to send them, that would be great. On the subject of guns, saw my first "no firearms" sign today, had to go back to the car and leave the gun!

My Dad is in his mid 80's and there is no more dry firing. If he can make it to the range and BS with friends it is a good day.

I think there are at least a half-dozen assigned to my mailbox. And 10+ assigned to my browser history. And a couple more just to monitor my text messages.

Or at least that's how it sounds when my wife tells it...

@Millie

The ones assigned to my mailbox were busy today. :D

It's nice of you to keep them employed and busy!

What do the letters say, anything interesting?
They're all 5320.20 forms, which are basically "permission slips" to take NFA items across state lines. I sent them an email with one PDF that had 10 forms. They sent each one back in a separate envelope. But those 10 forms will let me take any/all of 11 firearms to the 10 states I requested at anytime in 2019. This is what my 2018 forms look like:

What kind of firearms do you need permission to take to a different state? Machine guns and such?

NFA = National Firearms Act (of 1934)

The six categories are:
1. Machineguns (MGs)
2. Short barreled rifles (SBRs: barrel < 16" and/or OAL < 26")
3. Short barreled shotguns (SBSs: barrel < 18" and/or OAL < 26")
4. Destructive Devices (DDs: cannons, grenades, mortars, etc)
5. Any Other Weapons (AOWs...cane guns, PGO "shotguns" <26" OAL, etc
6. Silencers (suppressors, cans, mufflers, moderators, etc)

I own four of the six categories (no MG or DD). AOWs and Silencers are exempt from the permission slip process.

Probably more than you wanted to know, but there it is. :D

No, this is exactly what I wanted to know! I like to learn about stuff, so thanks!

Hhhm? "Shall not be infringed."

Oh, I agree. But I also don't let it get in the way of traveling if I want. I know a lot of people who build AR pistols and claim the hassle of getting permission to cross state lines is one of the reasons.

I spend <3 minutes each year (usually around this time for the following year) asking permission. It's one file I open, the date autopopulates and my signature is already there. All I do is change the year for the travel dates. Print to PDF and email it to the ATF.

Takes longer to scan the approved forms into a PDF and print copies for my binders than it does to file the forms. And I can travel to any of those 10 states any day of the year with zero notice. For example, I can take whatever I want to Battery Oaks in Oct.

Yeah but with 10.5" and 11.5" pistols with all the new braces there really is no functional difference between a pistol or a SBR anymore. It is just an accounting/paperwork gimmick now.

Edit - And with a pistol you don't have to send an itinerary to the King. :p
