a Guy is trying to sell me what he says is an original doughboy helmet and bayonet. Anyone here that can help? Here are the pics.

I know it might be tough to tell me just from pics but it’s all I can do right now. Please tell me what you think and what you might know. Thanks.

Tim

The US used the "Doughboy" style helmet thru the early days of WWII.
Look on line and compare the offered helmet against what you find.
Look at the edge and bail where the straps attach.

The bayonet looks like it's missing the handle scales. I'm no expert but all the WW1 bayonets I've seen in pictures were a lot longer than that.

Yep. Turkish FAL bayonet. WW2 era British helmet. Helmet is worth $50+ by itself . Bayo is worth close to that. Solid deal if you like them.

@gsimmons is right. It is an M17A1 Kelly helmet, not British. Was looking at it with very sleepy eyes in bed last night.

Buy both of them.
They are worth that, authentic or not, maybe not to collector snobs but they would look cool on my wall.

You did very well on that Turkish bayonet. I seldom get more than $40 for them, which is about the going rate for them on ebay.
