I've decided to fill up the water bob! I've had it for awhile and never used it, so now is the time. I figure if I don't fill it up we'll be without water for a year, and it'll be my fault!

If we're only out a few days, I'm sure the neighbors can help me use it up. Maybe they don't have a bob and will be thrilled that I filled mine up, right?
Only doing it a little at a time because I'm not sure if the floor under the tub can handle the extra weight....

Who else is doing the water bob?

We have two, one for each tub. I was thinking about doing one just to try it out as we have never used it.

If you are in a home with a tub I'm pretty sure it could handle the weight? Just a guess though

100 gallons X 8.3 pounds per gallon equals 830 pounds give or take.

Doesn't the tub get filled with roughly the equivalent amount/weight of water when you take a bath? Wouldn't you think the
floor is rated for a full tub+?

Like jeppo said. Fill till you hear wood creaking and moaning sounds. :D

Afterwards, you're gonna want to hang dry that thing somehow.

Well, it can hold me up, and I'm not small. LoL. But it's a really old house, and there were some cracked pipes in there and leaking water....we'll see!
They hold 100 gallons? Wow.

If I got down into the tub, I'd have to get a crane to get my butt outta there....showers for me!

A little at a time? Like, fill slowly until you hear a loud and expensive noise?
You are such a nut!!
As in fill it a bit, turn the water off and see what happens, then do some more, etc....and hope not to hear any kind of a noise!

I prefer showers too. But, once in a while, after a rough few days, Calgon. :D

Actually, I can't remember the last time I took a bath. Wait, did that come out right??

Wish I still had mine, left it behind when I sep from exwife.

I’ve got the lake for water to flush toilets.

Just put some buckets outside. If they don't blow away, you'll have plenty of water to flush toilets.

We'll probably fill one tub on a Friday just in case, but no waterbob to use.

@Millie you can fill it anywhere that you have a water source and leave it...front yard by the hose, etc. It is "supposed" to be able to stand alone and not need a tub.

Of course it would need to be protected from damage, the sun, etc.

I wasn't aware you can use it somewhere besides the tub....
However, my yard is full of very old trees and something will surely fall on it. I've been trying to figure out if there's a safe(r) place beyond the yard to stash the car so it doesn't get hit, but all around are trees and across the street is a ditch....with trees on the other side! This is what you get when you live in the woods, duhhh... but I'm really going to be holding my breath once we get a bit windy here!
I'm glad to know the bob can be filled elsewhere, though. (Maybe I need to build it its own little bob house near the outside faucet, where it can be all nice and safe?? And out of the tub!)

Never heard of that before, seems interesting. I see it is intended for a one time use so drying it out may not be an option, but as I said, I have never seen it before.

They're pretty cheap on amazon, I got this one awhile ago, but never thought I might need it, really. I'll order another one once all this is over.
