@htperry

Skool me/us again on the current drone market.
I understand DJI has like 60% of the current market and I remember something about them being a Chinese company and possibly spying or something....can't remember.

Anywho, had a coworker come to my house today with his Mavic Pro to look at my roof damage due to the hurricane. Freaking cool drone!

I wanted the Phantom 2...then phantom 3...now they have the 4. But that Mavic is so small, foldable....

Maybe one day I'll have one...

DJI's momentum has slowed with market saturation and competing drones like the Evo and Anafi. I don't ever plan to buy DJI again and still own a Spark. If I bought right now, I'd like the Anafi. I think the Evo is great, better than the Mavic Pro.

My research is just beginning...again...but ...may I ask WHY?

1) Why would you buy the Anafi next?

2) Why is Evo better than Mavic

3)...have u seen the Mavic 2???

Again... sorry for stupid questions from a complete drone idiot

1. I like the Anafi 180 degree (from straight down to straight up) pitch gimbal, 20 MP Sony camera with zoom. The Parrot Anafi isn't Chinese and doesn't include whiz bang features I don't need to buy. I've flown the Anafi and was very impressed.

2. Evo is partially better than the Mavic due to not being DJI. Autel (Evo) is a much better company with excellent customer support (a DJI failing), the Evo has camera features not in the Mavic Pro and the Evo is very much the equal to any DJI product without the DJI crap. Autel is a quality company in every way.

3. Mavic 2 has camera problems that DJI hasn't yet addressed - there is no DJI product that will ever bring me back to DJI.

For hobbyists, there is no actual limit - just guidelines. For commercial drone pilots the limit is 400 feet. The guidelines make sense and are to keep you out of general air traffic. It's funny how hobbyists have nearly no enforceable regulation, but those that get a "drone pilot 107 license" are regulated out the ass. Congress tied the FAA's hands where hobbyists are concerned, but because the Part 107 license is a work permit, the FAA can over-regulate commercial operations.

From my You tube-fu ....I'm not digging the Anafi. The Evo looks really cool and I'd like to see one in person. The Anafi looks like a toy to me... Again just from the you tube vids I've watched.

All consumer drones are toys. The Anafi is a very light, compact high-tech piece of kit. The camera/gimbal is like no other. The flight time is very good.

You can't go wrong with a Evo.

Can you recommend a budget drone for just taking aerial pics and video around the property? I don't think a big investment would pay off because I probably wouldn't use it much after I mapped everything.

Yuneec Breeze.....$100....worth it??
