Raleigh cop fight

Hilarious, I'll bet those cops had never been in a real fight. Most resisting is just... resisting, not going all out.

They usually end up like this.

Wasn't there a thread on this one awhile back when it first happened?

He was probably smoking some "Wet" or something similar to put up a fight like that. Taser didn't faze him one bit.

my apologies, I had not seen that before

No apology necessary. I just thought it looked familiar and was looking for the prior discussion.

Why apologize? I’ve never understood why the worst crime in the world seems to be posting something that has been posted before.

Wasn't accusing anyone of a crime. Mostly making sure my memory was correct. Not a sure thing these days....

Party on!

I didn’t take your post in a bad way. There are people on every forum, though, who seem to just sit around waiting for someone to repost so they can jump on it. Never understood that.

The problem is when there are 5 different threads on the same subject because some one thought that their comment was so outstanding that it deserved their own forum.

It also makes it harder for someone to find the right thread when they wanted to post their thought. Some of us only have one and have to get it down while they still remember it.

Or, the downside of hiring weak, untrained, and/or fat people to attempt to arrest someone that might take objection.
To be honest I wish they had strength and height standards along with some MMA training...not being mean but a 5'6ish male or female is going to have hell of a time dealing with an asshole hopped up on something....

That would require standards. It’s more politically expedient to allow them to be fat and/or weak and untrained so that some politician can point to their department’s diversity.
Strength and Fitness standards and a few weeks of wrestling/jiujitsu would do wonders, I suspect, but will probably happen at the same time as the NFA repeal.

They get some 1/2 way decent training on subject control techniques, but most don't take it seriously. Or fitness, for that matter & we PT'd our asses off in BLET. I had people whining when we put on the red padded suits & told to go 100%. I'm like, "dafuq are you gonna do when some booger eater starts wearin' yer ass out, out on the street?"

I hear there's been some debate on the second cop in that vid not getting into the fray.

You can likely bet they are somewhat timid after the issue in Raleigh with the Hp troopers and deputy loosing their jobs.

Anyone remember black-jacks?
Dad would ride me to school in the squad car. I would play with the night-stick and the black-jack, well..until he told me to stop.
But these black-jacks...I remember thinking, you hit people with this?
I pretty sure the old school black-jack would've stopped this fight right quick.

A Spring loaded ball of concrete wrapped in leather. That is one bad ass tool for compliance. My best friends grandfather was a leo and he gave me his old black jack. It was well used and had blood stains all over it.

Yep, when I was in BLET in SC back in the early 90s our defensive tactics instructor was a monster and enjoyed torturing the people that wouldn’t take things seriously, we were doing “hip kicks” and the guy I was partnered with started whining that I was kicking him too hard, through a 6” impact pad...... so the instructor went off on the guy saying “what the hell are you gonna do when a gang banger starts curb stomping your whiney ass?!?!” That guy made it another week I think.

When we went full contact it was clear who paid attention and who didn’t, I took martial arts and wrestled Roman Greco, freestyle and high school so I was up to speed on many of the tactics they were teaching so I only had to demonstrate twice in the 12 weeks and spent the rest of the time watching the low hanging fruit get the shit kicked out of them over and over it was comical at best, our class had a a number of people that talked a big game but ended up getting cut, we actually lost more on the physical grades than the academic ones.

I think I'd rather be shot.
The old school bad guys knew what a blackjack was. Three cops rolling up on you with guns drawn was one thing, but three cops rolling up on you with blackjacks and you were in a world of s---.

I never know what ya'll mean when you talk about Blackjacks There are different things that serve the same purpose.

He doesn't fit in the pocket very well.

I can't find a pic of the one Dad carried but it's similar to this, except it had the big lead egg on each end, and instead of a lanyard it had a wide leather knuckle strap you slid your hand under as you grabbed around the middle, which was a heavy spring. It's design was more of a punch than a swing apparently. Dad always called it a blackjack.
The whole thing wrapped in leather. It was heavy, and impressive.

Can you imagine getting socked in the ribs with one of these things? Snap snap snap snap there go 4 of em. Jesus just shoot me already.

As a little boy I was convinced that if you got hit in the head with one of these it would kill you. It's one of the few childhood belief's I still cling to. Mom and Dad were there for love, brothers and sisters were there to scrap with, and if you got hit in the head with a blackjack you're gonna die.

One of the retired officers I work with told me that he would take one upside a guys head and then cuff them. He would take them to the hospital if needed. Then the next time he would see the person they would look at him rub their head where he hit them and say yes sir how can I help you.

@J R Green Yeah the black jack is what I'm talking about.
