Three Chicago police officers were attacked and locked inside an Englewood home as they chased a woman who had spit in the face of one of the cops, authorities said.

The officers were able to get out of the house in the 7000 block of South Throop Street and arrested a woman and two men around 2:30 p.m. Monday, police said.

Senneca Traylor, 19, was charged with aggravated battery of an officer and resisting an officer. Janice Lewis, 20, was charged with aggravated battery of an officer. Robert Williams, 28, was charged with unlawful restraint and resisting an officer.

The officers had been chasing Lewis when another person threw a piece of wood at the back of an officer’s head, police said.

The officers chased that person into a nearby home and other residents of the house locked the officers inside, police said. All three officers were treated at hospitals and released.

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the officers "demonstrated incredible professionalism and restraint after being struck by a 2x4, locked inside a home and physically assaulted following the attempted arrest of a woman who spit on them."

The suspects are due in court Wednesday.

Well I know what I’m doing the next time I’m chased by the cops in Chitown!

And of course, one of the witnesses took video...

Double cylinder deadbolt on the doors.

Hit with a 2x4 ... locked in a house ... these good citizens might have thought about this prior. Maybe not this incident but it would not surprise me for more ambush attacks on LEOs (and general citizens like in Portland) to occur with the Kavanaugh confirmation, midterm election (especially if the blue wave fails) and other occurrences the liberal left doesn’t like. After the Michael Brown, Freddy Grey and a few other deaths there were quite a few retaliation type attacks ... 5 LEOS’s down in Dallas, 3 in Baton Rouge, 2 sitting in their cruiser in NYC ... it’s not something talked about much in the media since they preach LEO’s deserve it. I jut have a feeling that places like Chicago, Oakland, Atlanta, Baltimore and even here in NC with Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro have the type pool to pull a “group” to start ambush attacks. I hope I’m wrong about that thought but I will say those 3 LEO’s are lucky they only where locked in and not have the house set on fire or something.

My house's deadlocks are keyed on each side of the door, so you could absolutely be locked in, but I would be locked in with you.
Couldn’t you lock it from the outside with the key and then keep someone from being able to open it from the inside?

Yeah, not sure why that didn't occur to me.
It's early. :p

My former boss used to talk about how I needed to build a moat with a Polish drawbridge around my parents house. The drawbridge would be on the outside so that after they went home, I could raise the bridge and keep them in their house.

Did it in college all the time. Didn't need a key. ;)

Is this a #metoo situation??
No. For those situations... Nevermind...

College room pranking, pennying doors; trash cans full of water poured into a dustpan jammed under the door, flooding the room; manilla envelopes filled with shaving cream slid open side in, under the door, then stomping on it. It would put shaving cream on the far wall. That kind of stuff.
Lighter fluid under the door followed with a match was an exciting one. We would standby outside the door with trash cans full or water for when the occupant(s) came out. You know, to put the fire out. :D

Anyway, you can bar an inward opening door with a 2x4 and a quick piece of rope.

We took taped the RA's door outside of the door frame then filled it with trash. It was before cameras being everywhere. We would shoot off the empty paint ball guns at 3-4 am. Had a guy freeze one then shoot the metal emergency door. Put a good dent in it and made one hell of a noise.

I see what I missed by not staying in a dorm. Instead I shared the upstairs of a house with Sophie.

Unless Sophie was a cat you had the better end of it I'm sure. I was in a coed dorm it was prime to say the least.
Sophie was just the girl that was the official renter and I rented from her. Didn’t really see much of her as she worked odd hours at the local newspaper. My girlfriend on the other hand, well yes, I got the good end of the deal, as she came a lot and often stayed overnight.
