Free SiCo suppressors

Looks like SiCO is catching up. Please see below email from them.
I don't really know what they're doing. I got this one back on 6/21 (after registering on 6/15):

Then I got this generic one (along with a lot of people on ARF) on 7/14:

And there are lots of complaints about the backup on communications. It's one thing to delay a request like yours, but there are people trying to get warranty work done that haven't gotten a reply to multiple emails and voice mails over a 10+ day span.

Has anyone had their dealer call and say their free cans arrived? I am shocked I haven't considering I ordered on the first day of the promo. Guess they sold more cans than anticipated and are still producing to restock shelves.

I was at THSF this morning and he said he probably has 50 or so due to his customers and hasn't seen a single one.

Guess they plan on using as much of the 4 month waiting period as possible, considering its already been 2 months.

Yeah, who knows? I've seen reports of one dealer receiving cans. That's it.

I'm like you...filed mine the first day. Talked to them a couple days later and was told the first ones would be shipped out quickly, then they'd have to actually make more for later orders. I know the fine print said up to 4 months, but I'm a little ticked about it.

Took them til yesterday to respond to an email about the failure to register a supressor for the program. Sent the email on July 11th.

So yeah they are pretty backed up it seems.

Well I got this email around 10P last night:

Thank you for registering for our Silencerco Summer Kick off Promotion.

We have confirmed that your registration is complete. Once your registration has been approved, we will begin to process your order. We will contact you should we need any further information. Please allow a minimum of 4 months for your free suppressor(s) to ship to your dealer. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
The SilencerCo Team

I registered both of my cans on the 15th or 16th of June, and got the email from the SiCo staff for both confirming the registration and free can selection on 6/20. Maybe they are going through and fulfilling the free can requests????

Nope...you're not that lucky. Here's what I posted on ARF (multiple people were posting they received the same email you shared):

I got the same one last night. I emailed them the following email at 10:46p:

What in the world is going on? I submitted mine on 6/15. Got a confirmation a couple days later. Called and talked to a guy that day and was told the early registrations would be sent out soon...and we're 2.5 months into it. At some point I got another "thank you for registering" email. And then today (9/4), I just got another one:

(Screen shot of email inserted)

Surely my "minimum of four months" isn't starting over. And I just noticed it's been changed from "up to four months" (indicating a max) to "minimum of four months".

Man I hope y'all get this straightened out. SiCo is taking a beating online for a lack of customer service recently. People taking 5-6 weeks to get a reply, including people with real service issues. It's a far cry from the top-notch reputation that was years in the making. No idea when somebody might see this email...

:(

As an owner of 14 SiCo cans, with one more pending plus my free one that I'm not sure will ever show up, I'm a little disheartened at this whole process.

-Greg

And at 11p (yep, 14 minutes later) got this reply:

Greg,
I apologize for the confusion. Because of the sheer volume of registrations our system was literally overloaded.

Because of this we were unsure who received a confirmation email and who did not. We have had 3,000 emails come in regarding the registration issue so we put together a list of all registrations and sent out a confirmation. You are still good to go and do not need to do anything further. I apologies for the intrusion and thank you greatly for you patience and loyalty. Please feel free to reach out to me should you have any further questions.
Very Sincerely,

so...evidently there's yet another glitch in the process.

Well as long as it didn't reset our place in line, they can email me daily telling me I'm special!

Thank you for registering for our Silencerco Summer Kick off Promotion!

We have confirmed that your registration(s) are complete and have been approved. At this time, you do not have to do anything further to participate. We will be processing your order as soon as possible. We will contact you should we need any further information.

Please allow a minimum of 4 months from the original registration date for your free suppressor(s) to ship to your dealer. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
The SilencerCo Team

Greg, I've just noticed what they said in your email response, "a minimum of 4 months for delivery." Didn't they say "up to 4 months" previously?

Edit. Just scrolled back through. Yup, originally said up to 4 months. Guess I get to call them next Monday if they haven't sent mine!

Yep. I pointed that out to them when I got the new on.

"Minimum of" and "up to" are completely different time frames. Add that to the fact they told me on the phone the first ones would ship out almost immediately, and I'm not a happy camper.

So wonder who qualifies for "the first ones" considering I bought and registered day 1 of the promo.

That's the big question...as I filed on the first day as well. It was. Friday, and I talked to them on the phone around Wednesday the next week, which is when they told me the first ones would go out fast. Then they said whenever they ran out of stock it would add another 5-8 weeks for production time.

Guess I will be calling them today and ask when I can expect my cans to arrive. Can't wait to hear what they say.

And I have only heard of one dealer that supposedly received a shipment, and I don't think it was ever confirmed. So it's not like they started and are working through the backlog. I really have no idea what they're doing.

That's my question also. Even if they redeployed staff to manage the promotion, it ended 3 months ago. I can't see how hard it can be. The only thing I can come up with is that maybe they have reach out to their distributors and offered a program where any excess quantity available they are partnering with the distributors to ship to the FFLs for the promotions. I could see the logistics of something like that being a little complicated, but I alone could figure that out in a few weeks, not 3 months. They'd be better to start trickling them out ASAP and then playing catch up.

Who the F knows...

Evidently this was posted yesterday or today?

Welp, just left them a not-so-nice voicemail and followed that up immediately with an email. Basically told them its been 4 months, I want my free cans and to know what they were going to do to make it right. If I had to guess, they will probably delete the voicemail as soon as they listen to it and then I'll get a canned response to the email. Either way, unless they take care of me, I will move on to other companies. Dead Air, Q, Griffin, and many others are pushing the market and doing great things. This is basically the case study for business 101 as what not to do.

I can tell you my FFL hasnt heard hide nor hair from them about getting the SOT information to ship out the cans.

(Not that it's going to matter....but) I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and waiting until Sun/Mon to make contact. I filed mine on Day One, but my initial registration confirmation, which said "up to four months to ship" came on 6/21.

I'll probably reply to that email, and ask for the tracking number.

The more I've thought about it, I think they probably are way behind on production given the success of the program. I initially thought it was due to their plans to release new cans at SHOT in 2019 (or right before), and that may still be the case. But instead of just selling a good number of cans then depleting their wholesaler's excess inventory via the freebies, they actually sold the excess early on during the promotion and are scrambling to produce probably even what their retailers are demanding for their shelves. They're obviously not going to let their retailers go without product to sell as that would cost them revenue, both the immediate and downstream (considering folks decide to buy a can, and if they can't find the one they want in stock, I'd bet they're willing to buy another company's just due to the vast selection right now, and then they commit to a mounting system and establish some brand loyalty). So they ensure the retail shelves stay stocked and the ones that suffer are the ones who qualified for the free cans.

This is pretty much why if they don't do something to compensate me for the delay, I will start buying other brands. It's bullshit that they are going to put revenue over the customers who purchased their products and generated the revenue for them. Also, if they try to send me a Gift Certificate to their online store, it better not expire for a good long while and be valid when they have sales. I'd much prefer they just offer up a couple of extra muzzle devices, pistons, or other accessories.

Guy on ARF emailed them recently and got this reply yesterday:

Hey,

We are working diligently to get your cans out. We will begin shipping cans out by the end of this month. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Let us know if we can help in any other way.

Somebody else posted and said:

Talked to them a couple weeks ago and they said they'd been basically waiting on getting as near to final numbers as they could get from registrations so they'd know how big the purchase order for the materials needed to be, they had the materials at that time, and had started working on the cans.

Which would line up with the "by the end of the month" reply...

I was looking at my NFA inventory on the EFORMS website today and there are many SilencerCo suppressor serial numbers in our inventory that we do not actually have on hand.
The serial numbers look to be higher than anything we have seen before. My guess is that SilencerCo, like in the past, Form 2's massive amounts of serial numbers, engraves the information
on "conduit", Form 3's the numbers out to dealers/distributors, the builds the actual suppressors, "when they have time/material", in batches to be shipped, crushes the "conduit", builds actual suppressor, engraves and ships in bulk.
This is a practice I "heard" that they have been using for quite some time.

There are litterally 15 Octane 45K consecutive serial numbers in our inventory and we only had 2 persons select that as an option and we have none of those in stock. Weird.

This is BIZZARO but received a call from SilencerCo minutes after making last post that they sent/form 3'd us the wrong suppressors. I had them email me the info.

Have you had any of the correct cans show up this week?

Actually just opened an email from them this morning and they reassigned almost all the suppressors to us for our customers. Your name is not on the list though. I am going to reply asking about you being you were in there at the beginning.

Thanks. I sent them an email yesterday saying my "up to 4 months" time was over, and I'd like my tracking number. :D

No reply...no surprise. :(

Am I one of those lucky customers? :D

Yeah we had a nasty exchange via email as to the trouble it was going to cause us to log the suppressors in and right back out back to them on a form 3.
When I mentioned I would "mail" the form 3 in if they did not want to assign them to our customers, they changed their mind.

If things go right (not sure they will) I have one octane 45k that is being processed by Scott today. He only had one for me in the pile however he has to send 5 back so I emailed SiCo asking if one of the ones being sent back can be assigned to me. I doubt I'll hear a response before Scott has to send the 5 back though. It's worth a shot...

...and y'all wouldn't even believe my situation if I posted a screen shot.

You saw Scott say he was going to email them about assigning one to me? Well, he did...and this was the reply:

Hello Scott,

I have checked our registration data and we have no record of a Greg [Lastname] registering any product for this promo.

Camille

Nevermind that I have at least three confirmation emails. One from June, one from July, and one from September. Maybe more, but I found those at a minimum.
