Back in NJ I would shoot USPSA and 3-gun matches and would like to get back into it, but there doesn't seem to be much going on around here.

Looks like they were having monthly USPSA matches at the Palmetto Gun Club, but I heard the match director resigned and there was no October match, plus it doesn't look like their web site is getting updated anymore.

Anyone know the scoop? I want to shoot! :)

Unfortunately the matches at Palmetto Gun Club are canceled till further notice. Low Country on Tabor City has a great match. Not sure how long of a drive though.

This may help also. https://uspsa.org/find-a-club

yup. PGC had some pretty darn nice matches. Sad to see them stop holding uspsa matches

Greetings fellow NJ refugee. PGC USPSA was great on the first Saturday of the month, however the range committee didn't seem to appreciate the competitive shooters and all but ran them out. Rumor has it the MD is planning to start up the matches at another range in the low country, but that hasn't come to fruition. I believe there is a weekday indoor USPSA match starting up in N.Charleston in the near future. As Wolffy mentioned there Low Country USPSA near Myrtle Beach, runs a match on the 4th Saturday of the month and I believe there is a monthly match near Brunswick GA.

Moving north to the Cola area we have MCRC on the second Saturday and Sandhills Shooting Sports on the third Sunday. Some of the Charleston shooters(which includes the Section Coordinator) travel up to Spartanburg for the first and fourth Saturday as well as Pinetucky in Augusta on the third Saturday. I think that is all the USPSA matches in and around the Palmetto state each month...

Wow ... not good news. :(

Low Country USPSA is just about 130 miles from me, kind of far. Brunswick is about 180 miles. Gaston is 100 miles and Sandhill 120. Spartanburg and Augusta are just too far. I would prefer to shoot outdoor matches but I might have to check out whatever happens in N CHS. I guess for now MCRC or Sandhill is going to be my best bet.

@Rs1200xl: where in NJ? I lived all around central Jersey (Middlesex/Somerset/Hunterdon) and most recently in Lawrenceville. How do I stay on top of what's happening around CHS? If the MD starts something again I would certainly go ...

Bergen county(just west of the GWB). Short of the small Tenafly indoor match I had to travel out to either Shogum or Old Bridge for USPSA. Thankfully, I moved down here less than a year after getting into USPSA and have a wide selection of matches within 1.5 hours of my house.

I live about 10 minutes from MCRC and can tell it you it is a pretty decent match. Usually ends around 1:30-2:00. This month they do not have the normal USPSA match as they will be running a Toys For Tots charity event(still USPSA). Normal match schedule will startup again in December. A lot of CHS folks head up this way for that one on the second Saturday. You may want to try and get to the December match...might be able to hook up with locals, as I mentioned many travel across the state so you may work out some car pooling.

Best place to keep up with what is going on is Facebook. There is a Charleston area USPSA group as well as the SC section USPSA group. I don't have the links on my work PC, but if you can't find them I'll post them when I get home.

Thanks for the tip, I just joined the 2 Facebook groups. I was a member at Old Bridge and shot USPSA there.

Looks like Palmetto is starting back up. New match director. 12/1 first match.

Mike and Diana are great people, they have been helping MCRC run their matches tio. I think I'll hit it up 12/1 for some PCC instead of spartanburg
