This narrow racked 7 walked out of a thicket around 4pm trailing a doe. 60 yard quartering shot with a saboted 250 great SST over two 777 pellets. He jumped up at the shot and took off. I heard him crash but lost him visually in the smoke. After a bit of trying to find first blood I found a huge spray with a 2-3" chunk of lung in it. From that point it wasn't a long track.

Damn Willis, is there anything left to eat?
Congrat man! You need a deer cart...unless u break it like i did at Pee DeeThis mornings muzzleloader hunt. I hunt from the ground, got seated at 6:30am and the doe strutted by at about 50 yards at 8:15. Two 50gr triple 7 pellets behind a Powerbelt 245grain copper aerotip, only took one step and dropped. The hard part was dragging her 1+ mile back to the jeep

BWAHA, not funny, but looks like the same model my buddy bought and the spokes on the wheel did the same thing with just a fat doe in it and he had bought it to haul bear out of the woods when he killed one. He went ballistic on the poor girl at Cabela's and then they gave him the mfg. phone number to call. They were going to replace with the same wheel of course. By this time he is totally bent out of shape, cussing and yelling at the phone. I am dying laughing trying to tell him, the poor kid on the phone is not at fault. Even told him we could drive to the local bike shop and I would buy him a couple of real spoke wheels. I had never seen someone so pissed on a broken product. Might have been how much he bragged about it when he got it and how he would be rolling while I was dragging. I still laugh thinking about his tantrum. Bet he still has it with the broke wheel.

Was hunting deer, but couldn't pass this up.
Northern Tool should have some better replacements. My cart has a single 20" bicycle wheel and the frame is made out of welded 1" EMT conduit. The single wheel tracks ebetter than 2 wheels and is easier to pull over down trees.Well I can't complain. I bought it from Cabela's when it was $59 shipped, and that was about a dozen deer ago and several years. I think I'm just gonna find some 20" bicycle tires online and swap em out.
BTW I only broke it because it was on the back of the car carrier on my Suburban at PDNWR and we backed into a ditch and the wheel caught under and snapped lol.

Quartering is definitely doable, was the only choice on many hunts I've been on, not bad in the cooler months. But pretty miserable when it's hot, buggy, raining, or really cold and/or snowing. Then there's the hassle of keeping dirt and hair off everything. So much nicer to hang it back at home and take your time with all the right equipment.I would like to find some sort of cart but am also thinking of butchering on the ground and carring out in a backpack.
He was stacking bodies
I take it you eat a lot of venison.

Nice! Congrats!Took this 8pt in the last bit of light..
Shot him at about 10yds with a 100gr .243 soft point. The bullet lodged in the muscle of the opposite front leg. He ran about 40yds.

Well except for the license, and the camo, and the guns, and bullets, and stands, Yada
That's the plan, with no-flat tires. I can get 2 20" cart wheels for it from Ebay for less than I can buy a new cart (including the price I paid for the cart)A fat bicycle tire on that would be awesome
I cant believe she hunts! Wow. Are you hunting up there behind your place? The old lady got her first deer ever this morning. Perfect heart shot, with a crossbow on a good sized doe. She's pretty proud and excited.
Eta: Doe had a lot of fat, neighbor reports the same this year on some bucks. If the old timers are right I'll be rolling in OT.
