Any members in the Boone area?
Im up here for the weekend, no time to meet, but thought I'd see who all was up here. Maybe get a lunch recommendation or something

Our Daily Bread in Boone is a great lunch place. Across the street from the Mass General store. I normally hit Foggy Rock in blowing rock every time I’m up there. Will be there this week and plan to stop in.

@JakeH Spent a lot of time up there, I'm sure he's got some knowledge to share.

Im not too far away from Boone..20miles.

Our usual spots are:
Booneshine brewing. They are serving out of Basils italian restaraunt, which is really good. The stickboy pretzels and beer cheese dip is awesome, as is the bruschetta.
Lost Province Brewing. Wood fired pizzas, awesome mac n cheese, and burgers.
Both have awesome beers. Booneshines "Dank Vader" black ipa is on tap again and so freaking good.
If Japanese is your thing, Koto's is pretty good. As is the mexican joint in the Walmart parking lot (name escapes me).
The walmart also caries reloading gear in limited selection, but halfway decent prices. Kind of unusual but pretty neat to see.
Woodlands bbq is really good as noted above.

Blowing rock is kind of a tourist trap...lots off Floridians, but still neat to check out. We usually hit Six Pence Pub for fish and chips, or Blowing Rock brewery (see a trend yet..beer..mmmm)
If you get up to Banner Elk, try Flat top Brewing for a pint (their name is changing to something else that escapes me) and then go over to the Bayou smokehouse and grill. They have some amazing bbq items there. Banner Elk cafe also is really good with a big variety, all of it good.

Woodlands is great. There’s a place on Faculty Street near the Convocation Center that was Town Tavern when I was in Boone that has a different name now but has good food. Macado’s on King Street is good too. If you’re into burritos then Black Cat on Depot St is a good one but it’s kinda small and can get crowded in a hurry. Troy’s on 105 is styled like a diner in the 50’s and has good burgers

And of course, Dan’l Boone Inn.

Im at App State for the weekend, cant really drive anywhere...Im in/on a bus.

Thanks for the suggestions

Coyote Kitchen. It is in the little plaza in front of Walmart. Excellent, funky Mexican.
Had it last year, was good.
It's my coworker's favorite place, we'll have it before we leave.

If you ever get the chance drive on 321 to Mountain City TN, go to Suba’s Restaurant. It not only has great gourmet food, but the best desserts I have ever eaten. The owners are the Suba’s. The wife is a pastry chef, and the husband is the head chef.

Gourmet? Dudes a teacher. He can't be spending that kind of coin on dinner. He has guns to feed. :D

Since your at ASU, cross king on depot to Lost Province. Within staggering distance from campus as I'm sure many students know. :) even if you dont drink their food is really good and you can people watch.

Had lunch almost every day at the Tapp Room for a couple weeks while at ASU working on a project a few years ago. Good bar food. Across blowing rock rd near Rivers Street.

I truly think it is better food than say Ruth’s Chris for steak. They have some other dishes that the wife really loves. The prices aren’t bad for what you get. But the desserts are truly the gourmet dish. The desserts are prices at around $6-8 a portion. One portion will feed two. The downside for most is the size. The place will only seat 25-35 people total. It is very small, but worth calling ahead to get reservations if you ever go to make sure there is seating.

had ODB tonight, a good Rueben and potato salad

Black Cat currently closed for renovation
Macados was packed last night!

I enjoyed ODB

At lunch we'll go across the street to where the Lowes Foods is, and that'll give the kids several options.
Our conference doesnt start till 1, but we got to be out by 11, so we'll go there and they can get a sub, mex, bistro etc

No one recommended Come Back Shack?

wow, I must be the only one that likes it lol.

Good stuff. Come Back Fries are good stuff.

Just a few minutes from the college
