Harsh, but true. I will say America needs the grand machinery of war somewhat more than my homeland because America has a lot more involvement in everyone else's business and wars than the UK does. Back when it was the other way around, England had a navy feared around the world, much of which was under our flag at the time, in the proper old colonial sense.
Now of course we're a breeding ground for dependence culture chavs, colony
space and meal tickets for invading foreigners and America's less aggressive and capable buddy who follows them into whatever shenanigans they charge into. Sad but true.

But the chaps we had the honor to drink with in Paderborn, Germany can still put us to shame when drinking pints.
I blame your weak kneed leaders not your soldiers and sailors! They're some of the best in the world (second only to us of course) when they have a leader who allows them to be. Maggie and the Falklands comes to mind.

As I said elsewhere on this forum, I have very fond memories of doing an exchange with the Royal Marine Commandos. We worked with the SBS some as well. Didn't meet a guy who wasn't an alpha meat-eater.
Ain't that right...

I wanna know who the "NCO" was that ever let that recruit leave the company area with her optic mounted backwards.
