I need recommendations for a good tattoo place in the Laurinburg, Aberdeen, Fayetteville general area...any place really within about an hour of Laurinburg/Wagram.
It's been at least 10 years since my last one, so I have no idea where to go now.
(This is not the trigger finger tattoo! Lol. I need someone who can do a fairly large piece, and maybe design it too.)
Thanks!

@Chdamn is that where you got your "welcome to Jamaica man, have a great day tattoo?"

Nah man. I could only fit the acronym WENDY on mine.

But he did do this. I told him what I wanted, sent a couple sample pics I kinda liked and they drew this and did it.

Hmmmm.....is there a tattoo shop in a military town? It's right beside the pawn shop on the other side of the strip club, across from the used-car lot with the "low, low" 22% financing.....
Someone's being a smart-a**!!! Lol.

I'm not going into some random place. I'd like to know a little about it first.....

Why does it need to be so close?
A tattoo is one of the last things you should bargain shop for

Trust me, I have a bunch if 90’s tribal junk... regretting it now...

Lee Green at Immortal Images, in Charlotte is amazing
He does all my current work

Proximity equals bargain shopping? We're not talking hospitals. Lol...

Although I have no tattoos, I can generally see the difference in bad, okay, good, and great.

The link I posted is from an artist who worked on a co-worker of mine. She has several pieces, but one stood out. It was awesome. And when I asked about it, she could not stop talking about the guy.

At the moment, all I can remember is the business name. As soon as I get the artist's name, I'll edit my post.

Perhaps I expressed my position poorly.

What I meant was that location and price should be secondary to a quality end product.

My artist, Lee Green, at Immortal Images is roughly 150 miles away, and $125 per hour ( plus tip.) also, I usually have to book him 6-8 weeks in advance, as his schedule is quite full.

The drive is inconvenient,
and the price is steep,
but well worth it in my opinion.

Can he do a tattoo of a penis, over my penis, only bigger?

I didn't say I was bargain shopping! I'd just rather get it done near to home. Just because a shop is near here doesn't automatically make it suspect, does it? LOL. I'm just gathering information right now. I've gotten tattoos in 3 states and don't regret any of them.
But I appreciate the link. I'll check it out.

I'll check it out, thanks for the link.
You're welcome.

The artist I think you would most likely want to see there is Robert Parrish.

Good luck in your search. Not trusting anyone along with not knowing what I would want on me for the rest of my life is why I have no tattoos at this time.

Thanks very much.
At least you said you don't have any at this time....so you never know!
I thought about getting one for years before I finally did, when I was 30. I've thought about each one for awhile too, hence the start of my search now for an artist to do one in the next 12 months.
If getting one is right for you, go for it. If not, at least you gave it some consideration.

Let me clarify,
It’s not so much that I regret them, so much as it is that if I could go back 20 years and explain to my youthful self “look, the artists, guns, and inks or going to improve exponentially in the next 20 years, so wait” I certainly would

I really thought I would have gotten one after my son passed away, you know, to memorialize him. My wife and daughter both got their first tattoos after he died.

If I could have found the notes (bar, sheet music, whatever it's called) to the opening guitar solo on "Under My Voodoo" by Sublime, I would have gotten one. I would have drawn it myself.

That was his alarm on his iPhone.

He died on a Saturday. Sunday was a blur. I really only remember @BurnedOutGeek being here, along with countless other well-wishers traveling in and out my front door.

We slept on the couch cushions on our living room floor, if you can say we slept, only to be shaken from our pallet by the sound of his alarm. It should have been waking him up so he could get ready for school. Instead, it was a tearful reminder that things would never be the same.

I guess I could make up the notes and sketch it out, but I really want them to be accurate.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and can understand the need for a memorial.
That's a lot of what my pink ribbon is about, as well.

Surely someone here is a musician and could do the music for you! There are sites where you can buy sheet music, have it sent or you can download it...I guess you've tried those?
I'll ask around among my musical friends/relatives and see what they can come up with.

J. W. Pepper has a book of sheet music of Sublime, and the list includes your song. It's not free. But it's there.
Also went to Ultimate Guitar.com...there's something that looks like music, but nothing like I see in the music I sing...
Still looking, though!
911tabs.com...
We need someone with perfect pitch to listen to the song and i.d. the notes and write them down...

I'd recommend the place in the 'Ville that I went to for many years, but the last couple times I went by there, the shop had a lackadaisical & seedy vibe that I didn't care for.

My guy here in Burlington is awesome, but not only would that be a trek for you, he's got a 3-4 month wait.

Most importantly, Burlington is a tad close to where the ex lives....don't want to get into any issues! As for a wait, this is going to be a while in the making, because I only need it done by this time next year...

Just order some more ammo online and save the $$. Or buy another gun. Much easier than the tattoo.
I plan to do all those things!
And the tattoo isn't about being "easier" than anything...it's about marking (in more than one way) some important events in my life.

I have 2 full sleeves from Brian Leebrick who now works at a shop called Made to Last in Charlotte. He is excellent and I have had 5 other friends get pretty extensive work from him as well after seeing the stuff he’s done for me. I met him when he worked at a shop in Wilmington called Glen’s. All the artist there do great work as well.
