I just realized that I used a phrase in an email that I absolutely could not use in a PC company in the US. Certain never a university email system.

"Final solution."
Oops.
Also, in China women under 30 prefer to be call a "girl." Some think you are insulting them by calling them a young lady or a woman.

Just give the Chinese time and the PC police will be there.

I think youre over-exaggerating, people use 'final solution' often in USA without worry of being 'connected' to Holocaust etc

I actually read it in a corporate e-mail today and no one said anything. Then again, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer is now racist.

I don't get the connection and I'm 47.

fi·nal so·lu·tion
/ˈfīnl səˈlo͞oSHən/
noun
noun: final solution; plural noun: final solutions
  1. the Nazi policy of exterminating European Jews. Introduced by Heinrich Himmler and administered by Adolf Eichmann, the policy resulted in the murder of 6 million Jews in concentration camps between 1941 and 1945.

@Brian K ah, thank you for answering my question.

Figured it might be something like that but didn't know the history part about it being a policy with a name.

I’m 34 and I would have never made that connection.

this is the phenomenon of click-bait news in my opinion.

just because a news outlet could find one person on twitter or one school or one business that did something dumb or over reacted, people tend to believe that “everyone” on the “other” side believes this...

Is that the only phrase? I thought this would have more than one thing.
And it was a bad example.
We get it, China sucks, we know, but you could say that here and no one would care either.

Final Solution: 'finull so lu shun'---- Noun-- means it's the last result

Duh

And why does everything have to be associated with Nazi's or slavery??!!! I'm freaking sick of it. Move on people. Yes it is history..learn from it and move on.

PS on the other topic, a novel I'd recommend is:

The Odessa File by Frederick Forsyth. He took some liberties with Roschmann's character, but the (action) novel is excellent in my opinion.
