So a local business owner stuck his foot in his mouth on tape. Whatever... his opinion, gets to live and die by his words.
But county sheriff and local police chief may have gone too far. The way I think their staff will read this: "If you get a call and slow roll??? might not be a bad thing"

If they had said " If you choose to visit this restaurant, don't do it in uniform." I would be ok. But the way they did is more of a political statement.

"Baker issued an order Thursday barring employee of the Wake County Sheriff's Office "from entering upon the premises, conducting business or associating with Bagels Plus" while on duty, in uniform or wearing anything that connects them with the sheriff's office."

I can't imagine having a boss who can tell me where I can and can't dine.

So, I am okay with some of the Sheriffs statement- as a business owner I tell my staff- don't do anything at work or when in uniform that reflect any political, social, religious... view. If you can't walk away, change out of uniform before you leave. If you can't control it at work, find another job. I might agree with the view, but IT IS NOT A WORK ITEM. But if I told an employee not to go to a bakery because the owners are gay... or Catholic... or Yankee's... or blond...

On duty I think he can dictate it. Off duty, they can say FU. But it already sounds as if we have the anti-Trump Sheriff with the same lack of filter and sense of finesse. Could be entertaining.

This calls into question the Sheriff's ability to stick to law enforcement.

Sure, he's an elected politician, but he's supposed to focus on legal justice, not social justice.

Lefties don't separate the two. Everything is political, the State is God and nothing can be outside of politics.

If your product/services are good and you treat me decent.......i dont care about your personal feelings. If your personal feelings are one thing but your chicken and waffles are good.............and you respect me when im there......i will see you saturday!

Fixed it for you, lol

Not at all. You think the non lefties on here put the Gov and State first? You either misunderstood my post, or have very good booze. Now maybe you are thinking DC Republicans are the same, but that is not the same, or what I said.

Marxist are different. Even from most scum bag DC Repubs.

I'm not concerned about waffles, what concerns me is all the illegal aliens he will not refer to ICE.

The only way I dont like gays, Catholics, or blonds is if they are Yankees. Lol.

Is someone who uses racial slurs a racist? To me it's just name calling. It doesn't mean they hate all people of that race.

I would never ask my guys not to eat somewhere if I was fire chief, but I'm not a crazy person.

The sheriff is quoted as saying "we wouldn't want members of this office in an official capacity to frequent a place who feels that way about law enforcement." I believe, Mr. Sheriff, that those were his feelings about you, personally, and not about law enforcement in general. But if you want to take a statement about one specific individual and use it to accuse the speaker of being biased against an entire group (of which the target happens to be a member), who am I to point out your fallacy?
