We purchased a Ruger SR22 for my wife as a fun plinker and to ready her for her SC cwp at the Greenville gun show last month. I was really impressed by the immediate grab me shoot me feel of the gun that I bought one for my self a few days later.
Long story short - her’s performed absolutely perfect the first 200 rounds, and mine failed to fire in the second round....
We had planned to systematically test various manufacturers and hers ate everything we fed it. Mined failed to fire at least 1/5.
Back to Ruger.
As disappointed as I was with the out of the box performance- I was very satisfied with the customer service. They paid for shipping both ways and replaced everything except the trigger and the serial number...in less than 1 week.
I work for a major manufacturer who’s entire reputation is based on Quality- but hey, even we had 1 return for 8 million products ...
range time will tell the true tell

My wife’s needed to go back. Biggest problem was dumbass at fedex hub who wouldn’t take it. Ended up having the fedex store take it. They never had any questions.

I also had issues with one of the two Sr-22’s I bought. My experience with their customer service was identical to yours. I couldn’t have asked for more.

I bought a SR22 about oh, 5 years ago or so to mainly use as a semi automatic handgun trainer for the newbies. Even got it in pink so the girls would take to it.
It's been an excellent handgun, and accurate too. The only issues I had was the rear sight wanted to walk. A little bit of blue locktite solved that, so pay attention to the rear sight.
Ammo related failures are almost non existent. I stay away from ammo that is known to cause issues, like Remington thunderbolts, but for the most part the gun eats anything you put in it.
Feed issues are compounded by limp-wristing. Of course with newbies, especially ladies, limp-wristing is not uncommon. They'd have a problem, I'd shoot the gun and have no problems. I came to realize they were fish-handing the thing. So keep a firm hand. Also, when/if the gun starts getting cranky, clean it. They run much better clean. It also scores big bonus points with the lefties and the ambidextrous safety.
My neighbors are like family, and we do a lot of shooting together. I've taught all of them more about guns than they probably want to know.
Since I let them shoot the SR22, they've bought 3 more.
Sorry for the long diatribe, and @RamZ did have a factory issue, but I say all this to let you know to check some things before you call Ruger.
I think it's the best choice in it's class. On the short burner for me is one with the long barrel. That'll make me a real operator.

I had a 40 year old shot to pieces ruger single six that the local gunsmith could not get to work correctly he sent it back to ruger for me while it was there I asked to have a new 22m cylinder fitted as the old one had been lost before I bought the gun. when Ruger got the gun after about a week they called and said the gun was just flat out worn out and they offered me a replacement for $180.00 I got a brand new stainless single six combo the $180 included shipping both ways and the transfer fees for the new gun not bad for a company that does not have a written warranty on their guns

Finally made it out to shoot, ran 5 full clips with ZERO issues. That's 49 more than I got the first time.
Thank's again Ruger Customer Service.....

Except for a gun that was correct the first time. :p

The best customer service is the one you never need.

Yep, great customer service isnt worth a damn when you are up to your neck in zombies and your gun goes down. FWIW...I sent a 2nd hand 20+ year old Red Label shotty back to Ruger that I shot a truck load of shells thru over the years. They paid frt both ways and replaced all the springs and a few other parts for free.

I'm glad everyone has had good experience with Ruger CS. I have an SR22, no problems. 10/22, no problems. LCPII, jammity jam jam jam. Right out of the box after a good cleaning and lube. Yes, they paid for shipping both ways. Yes, they got back to me in a timely manner. No, they did not fix the gun. Noted that they fired 24 rounds of WWB 100 grain, no issues. Hmm...Winchester doesn't offer 100 grain .380acp. Turns out it was the magazine anyway. LCP mag works but jams. Original that came with the gun jams. Both catastrophically. Someone mentioned a magazine issue, so I ordered 2 mags from Brownells because they said they were supposed to be made in the USA, so different in my mind. Original says Italy. So do the ones from Brownells as it turns out! Oh well. Long story short, the mags work! I was going to return them but noticed a difference. The springs in the original and LCP mags are weak. Ruger owes me a good mag. I just haven't gotten around to calling them on it yet.
