New: HK VP9 Long Slide

Did you guys hear about this yet? I just found out that HK is getting ready to release a new longer variant of the VP9. The full handgun will be available in a couple of months. In the meantime, current VP9 owners can purchase the longer slide and barrel as an upgrade kit.

I don't own one yet, so i guess this will be my next HK when they release the whole gun in the USA soon.

I bet, in a couple months, when they release the whole gun it'll be a much better deal.

I'd rather pay $750 for the whole gun than $500 just for the slide and barrel.

Regular VP9s are selling for $520.

The new long slide version should be around $600-$650 before long, right?

If it follows normal HK pricing procedures it will be about $1k when it is released. Then 2 years later you canngrab one for $650.

Because it’s a pain in the butt that’s why. Internal parts needs to be modified. I get it. Easy for them but easier to use already existing parts and not create new parts.

S&W marketing techniques.

1. release something really good, but leave off a few features
2. release a competition version of the really good thing with most the missing features restored, but only in strange colors or with things people don't want (external safety?)
3. release a RMR version
4. release a RMR version without unwanted features in a normal color

This way you'll get enthusiasts to buy at least 2 trying to get something NOW but then also later when they get what they wanted in the first place later.

Or, it's hard. But I dunno, I like my S&W marketing conspiracy theory better.

But if it's at the 750-800 range I'll go back to a Q5

I had a VP9 that shot real nice. My Q5 shoots real nice. I imagine the long VP9 would shoot real nice, too, but at those prices, I'll never find out lol.
If someone gets one, I'd love to try it.

I really like how the slide tapers at the end. It reminds me of the USP Elite.

And the new slide windows look really cool, I mean tactical...

The only thing I didn't like about the Q5 was the blacked out rear site. I shoot it in 2 matches but prefer 3 dot sites.

I prefer three dot sites as well...

I just got a new HK45CT last week. I'm glad it came with new suppressor height sites, BUT HK described it as coming with NIGHT SIGHTS. But only the front sight has tritium in it. The rear sight has nothing... Not even white paint.

I feel like that was false advertising...

Yeap, mine was black out target sites. Look basically like the HK Bama posted

Wow. Looks like I have another “gotta have it” on my list.
