Forewarning: I am "profiling/judging" individuals as I see them. I DO NOT care about the "don't judge if you don't know" bs. Everyone forms opinions based on first impressions, appearances, and actions. It's rational to do so, every interaction or passing instance everyone is getting a "read" on everyone else.
Anyway.
Just got back from a trip to the beer store. Made me decide to finally post about something I've noticed.
Open carry of fixed blades has been legal around here for a while to my knowledge.
But here in the last year or two I've noticed it has become more prevalent.
No I don't care at all. You do you. But it seems to be mostly among those "trashy" types. White boys with low hanging pants. Gold embroidery, embellishments, etc. On them.
Used to be the only ones open carrying fixed blade knives you could tell were hunters, fishermen, hikers, farmers and such. But that has always been a rare occurrence in public generally.
But I've noticed the previously mentioned group starting to open carry fixed blades. The individuals who are all "game" without having any. The type who are always quiet when alone but who get obnoxious in groups.
The individuals have started carrying pawnshop/flea market knives when alone. I've still never seen one in a group of two or more doing this. Nor do they ever seen to have anything even name brand. Not even a morakniv or a buck.
I'm really just curious about if I missed something new in the laws. Maybe missed something new in my locale's culture?
Again it doesn't bother me as it is nothing unlawful plus I don't care if it was (if it's not harming anyone, idk what you do personally) I'm mostly just curious if anyone else has noticed this trend in their locale's. Or if anyone may know why this seems to be gaining more popularity.
Just to head off the "judging people is wrong" crowd. I consider myself a complete socially awkward loner of a mountain country boy. The "mountain in-crowd" shun me just as much as the "mountain rednecks" do. I prefer to keep my own company.
Aka I've always been/will be strange in my own right and finally realized I'm good with that years ago.
Just wondering what you've noticed/experienced.
