What are you drinking?

Digging through my beer fridge just now for a Bell's Oberon, I stumbled across these (no, not the mags). This is Aldi's Sierra Nevada knockoff, left behind by my thrifty brother after we met up for a three-day hike through the Smoky Mountains National Park a couple weeks ago. As much grief as I give him, these actually aren't half bad.

...Oberon is still way, way better though.

Got home from work and just had time to start the firebowl. What a beautiful evening!

The combined weather of the past couple days made me think it was gonna be a peaty scotch kind of evening.

Here's to ya!

I agree. I’m currently enjoying Laphroaig Lore. Try it if you get the chance! Cheers friend!

I have two unopened Laphroaig offerings that I have never tried.

Lore

Select

Considering Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength is my favorite peaty scotch of all time, which one should I try first? The Lore or the Select?

Stepping out of my normal. Sitting out back listening to Margaritaville and drinking some Banana Rum Cream. Kids and grandkids playing in the sunshine.

Both!

Sorry for the late reply. I've never had the Select but how bad can it be? (to a peathead). Lore is very layered with flavors. Doesn't punch you in the mouth but
evolves. Pretty complex stuff. Sit with it awhile....

P.S. Shirley in Angier has JW Green and Deanston in stock now. Green is a blended malt, not a blended whiskey. Other JW's are blended whiskeys.
Try it sometime. Not the peat bomb, but at 15 + it's a good go to at a reasonable price. Cheers!

I picked up a bottle over the weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. My go-to Irish has always been Jameson’s and it’s derivatives but this is far better and very good. I added one cube of ice but it’s not really needed. Very smooth sipping whiskey and full of flavors. Around $30.00.

Just got off the Tar river in Tarboro... Heard they had a brewery... Protocol dictates we investigate...

Nana's Roof Belgian IPA with local honey... pretty tasty...

Not a big Macallan fan. This isn’t bad. Needs a touch of water.... Cheers!

Very Old Barton tonight, for $23 per 1/2 gallon it’s a Great deal. I took a chance on this a couple of years ago and its pretty hard to beat for the price.

Started off with Basil Haydens Double Rye and ended up with Blulleit. Hate seeing the Haydens go down that quickly.
