I have continual silver dollar size holes about an inch or two deep all over the softer front yard. What critter is doing it. Many, many chimp monks and squirrels I see during the day. What they looking for?
Thanks, Ken

Moles eat grubs.Voles, get some grub killer and the voles will not have anything to eat and will move to your neighbors yard
I stand corrected, I have something in my yard making holes and tunnels and was going to get grub killer hoping to get rid of them.Moles eat grubs.
Voles eat roots.
Bastards.
The moles will push up burrows in your turf, chasing critters. Voles, those little forkers, will take out very small tress and shrubs due to eating the roots. They leave those holes, discussed above, and are damn near unpossible to eradicate.I stand corrected, I have something in my yard making holes and tunnels and was going to get grub killer hoping to get rid of them.
What is it that people use propane and light it for?The moles will push up burrows in your turf, chasing critters. Voles, those little forkers, will take out very small tress and shrubs due to eating the roots. They leave those holes, discussed above, and are damn near unpossible to eradicate.

You have a link to a good trap?
And this is why I hate cats.I have 5 outdoor cats. People ask if I'm the crazy cat lady.
Yeah pretty much.
What I don't have... voles, mice, chewed wires in cars, squirrels, snakes, moles that dare come out(=instant death), pita birds like Cardinals, rats, rabbits, chipmunks...
If it's on the ground even temporarily, it's doomed.
About the only thing they don't mess with is the skunks. They even seem to be like, buddies with them and show 'em where the chow bowl is.
Can't blame them for that I guess.
1) They are an excellent tool for a job that is necessary. And this is why I hate cats.

2) You will never see my cats in your yard.
3) I would venture to guess that you have taken far more life than my cats ever will.
4) Some people just love to hate because..,they love to hate.
Bunch of moles are going into the hole...know what the last one in line sees?
Molasses.
hahahahahahaha
