Wife announced she wants her carry permit...

My wife has one, has had it for about 10 years. She rarely actually carries, but wants the option and definitely wants to be covered if for some reason I need to hand her mine or she ends up driving my vehicle.

Getting the CHP is the easy part ...

Acquiring her EDC is not easy but not the hardest still ... DO NOT buy her a handgun ... sure let her shot all yours and anything else she can get her hands on but LET HER buy what she likes cause her f she don’t like she ain’t gonna carry it. In my case my wife tried about everything I had in the safe, friends had or what could be rented from revolvers to mouse guns to even Tupperware ... never bought her a gun ... stole my Sig P239 that I had for maybe 20 years.

The worst is finding her method of carry AND then getting her to carry. We men have it so much easier to get a good comfortable carry setup ... women’s clothing and style makes it way way harder for them. Again let her find her way ... and get any help from WOMEN who already have been down that road like say @Miss Lily or other female instructors.

The more she does for herself (with you supporting her when asked) the fewer handguns will be sitting in the safe, holsters and such in the drawer or nights you sleep on the couch.

She already adopted my G48 the minute I brought it home.

Forced the Chicken Lady into a permit. Now, three pistols later............. Forced daughter into it. Two pistols later................ Then I made my 69 year old secretary get hers. Her son had to buy the hardware LOLLOL.

I wish I could talk my wife into carrying a handgun. she just says why when I shoot your rifle better...

Keep trying, and have her talk to those of us who do carry a handgun.
(I mean, don't badger her, or you'll end up sleeping in the dog's house or on the sofa, but don't give up. LOL.) Or I guess she can carry the rifle?

LOL... I’ve been asking her for 39 years. Our best friends (husband and wife) shoot competitions and she even has been trying to get her to carry a handgun. She will shoot them no problem as long as I keep it caliber friendly(nothing over .38 special). She just has no interest in CCW. :(

Well, I guess that's it then! lol.

I'd feel very strange without my gun on me.

Or carry both...

That’d be even better.

Good for her!

I wish I could convince my wife to get hers but she fails to see the need. I would also be concerned that she’s not mental prepared to use it should the need arise.
She doesn’t turn a blind eye to the world either, just doesn’t feel a need to carry.
