He’ll just get into “a position” and “pick em off from a distance.”

Wish I had dollar for every time I’ve heard that.

How’s he going to “get to” that spot? What if his hide gets discovered/compromised and he has to move R.F.N.?
Keep shooting enough, long enough and some observant somebody’s gonna figure out where it’s coming from.

Yup...I aint no hard charging tactical timmy myself, but I know most of combat seems to be fire and maneuver, and a lot of folks can barely maneuver into their cars without grunting much less charge through cover while shooting and avoiding being shot.

Funny story,

During one of our FoF training events at work back in 2011, we had a "spot" you need to run from X to Y across a "open area". I moved to the area near X and a Vietnam veteran was hanging out. So i started to hang out too.

Our boss, 20 something runs up, never served in the military says, you two ready to go?!!! At the same time we say "hell no, they are shooting!" Oh, ok then. Lol

He reminds me of the guy from that Preppers show (or whatever it was called about 6 years ago) who was so large he had to use a hoverround to get around, but this dude think he's going to hold off a horde of 'zombies' or something

Id love to meet an honest guy like that that says "I have all this because I am an overweight slob and wont be able to fight hand to hand, so Ill need to just hope to take a few out and then die quick from a bullet as opposed to being beaten to death."

You're gunna need a bigger gun however...

Does Rick think that AR mags should be next to the light bulbs because that's the aisle you head towards when you plan on lighting something up?

Good post but Rick might be offended when you list him with actual Fudds. He'd make a good neighbor.

I've never met a black or hispanic Fudd.
We can't talk about those for fear of being labeled the evil dreaded RACEERISTS!

Kinda like how CPI Security commercials always feature white, well-groomed, fit men as the black-hooded bad guy that gets scared off from the Pine-Sol saleswoman yelling at him through the speaker: "CPI SECURITEE! I-DENT-IF-I YO-SELF!"

But seriously: black folks can be just as bad as our baddest old white curmudgeon fudd.

I have met a few from other races that have Fudd like responses to the 2a. But one defining factor of Fuddism is an overt need to spread their message of Fuditude to all those around them. There are a lot of ignorant anti-gunners or gun owners who aren't 2A people. But true FUDDS are absolutely convinced that they are on the right side of the 2A, gun usage, and everything related AND they need to tell you about it. FUDDS are the Vegans and Crossfitters of the 2A world.

Very good point.

I've never met a black or hispanic Fudd. They're all white guys. :D
A black fellow I know, wife has a CHP, had it suspended, revoked, whatever, because she drew on a guy in an argument.
They spent a bunch of money, got it back.
Thinks every guy at work that owns gun is a blood thirsty nut that's gonna shoot the place up.

Frequently mentions that early in his career "everybody" had a snubby, derringer, or something in their pocket for dogs and whatnot.
Thinks that if guns were allowed at work people would be shooting each other over everything.

Doesn't mind a deer rifle, shotgun, or revolver, but no one needs anything more than that, specially machine guns: ARs, AKs, and Uzis.

That said I know way more white fudds that're vocal.

Where is the one with the keyboard patriot who has been telling everyone how dumb they are for participating in the process while calling for a revolution...for the last 10 years? Most likely calls himself a libertarian.

He by definition wouldn't be a Fudd, see a Fudd says he's for the second amendment but (insert something he doesn't like) . Who you are describing seems like they would understand the spirit of the 2nd and why the founding fathers placed it in the Constitution.

I love them. They think the laws of combat only apply one way, theirs.

Couple points...

1) The current two-party process we have is a sham. I think it could be argued that we really don’t have two parties...just one, having two factions that want the same thing. It’s not dumb to participate in the process...what’s troubling is the number of folks who participate in that process with the belief their side is right based solely upon a title; “Democrat”, or “Republican.”

2. Those having a frothy-mouthed fit and calling for/wishing for war is quite a bit different than those who study history, look at our current course and realize the potential for a future war to erupt is likely, should we stay on the path we are on.

Most Libertarians I know would like to avoid conflict, having a “live and let live” mentality. All they really want is to be left alone and live their lives as they see fit. They neither wish to control others, nor do they wish to be controlled. They want to live out the rest of their lives in peace...that’s it.

I fit right into that category.

No sane individual will wish for an all-out war within our borders. It has happened before and a helluva lot of folks paid a terrible price for it; both during the war and afterwards. The fallout from it, imo, is still with us today.

Should that ever occur again, the price paid will be no less costly than it was 150+ years ago. A lot of folks, whether directly or indirectly involved, would not live to see the end of it (if it really ever did “end”)....men, women and kids. Look at the member roster on this forum...see some of those names? Some of those folks would no longer be here once the dust settled and yeah, that saddens me because all-in-all, I think we’ve got a damned good forum with some damned good people and I’d hate to see anything happen to any of ya if it could be avoided.

So, yeah, you may have folks that are chomping at the bit for an armed conflict, but I will guarandamntee you that I ain’t one of them.

That said, I believe it prudent for folks to be as mentally, physically and spiritually (if they so desire) prepared as possible for what the future may hold.

He likes the second amendment but doesn't like politicians, voting, or leaving the basement.

Edit: nevermind. I just figured out who you are talking about.

This isn't anyone in particular, there are thousands of them. They are on every gun forum I have ever read.

Great point. I don't think both factions want the same thing but true otherwise from what I can tell.

They do...

They are just going about it differently.

Same destination, different roads to get there.

If you just lump it into "government control" or some other generic then maybe...but everybody in both parties doesn't want abortion (one example). What is your more specific definition of the "destination?" Not arguing, trying to understand.

Very possible, thank you for the clarification.

Anytime.

I’d like to add that I wish it were not so...that the ‘ruling elite’ were not seeking absolute control over every aspect of the lives of each citizen.

Nothing would make me happier than to wake up, turn on the news, and see all of our politicians at the local, state and federal levels admitting that, “Folks, government has become too big. It has morphed into a monstrosity that was never intended. It has sought control over areas of your lives in which it has no business at all. It has squandered your tax dollars and all but bankrupted the country. It stops today. Today, you get your country back. Not your democracy, but your representative republic, just as it was intended to be from the beginning.”

That happens and it will be the 3rd best day of my life, running only behind the day I married my wife and the day my son and daughter were born.
