How many 1911 lovers amongst us would be willing to bet oh say...$1,000. The bet would be for you to show up with 300 rounds of ammo of your choice and the 1911 of your choice. Then proceed to shoot the 300 rounds without a SINGLE malfunction of any kind. No...failure to load, fire, extract, eject, or lock the slide back. Absolutely no alibis. Just curious who would be willing to do this???

I'd do it if I had the $1,000!! LOL.

My RIA is coming back tomorrow, so you'll be seeing it Sunday.....I bet you can hardly wait, right? I have the ammo, but no $$......

Need more details. Can I add oil? How fast do I have to shoot that 300 rounds? Asking for a friend.

I think I would do that as many times as someone was willing to bet.

What's the payback for a successful run, hopefully more than just getting your money back and also who gets the thousand if the ole girl hiccups.

I’d maybe go $100 but I’d spend more than that in ammo because cheap bulk ammo would be my worry first on the wink link ... failure to fire ammo related ... not my 1911. I’ve run classes where we’d go thru 500+ rounds and not had a hiccup but a couple Murphy’s Ammo Company F-T-F’s.

ETA: would you bet it on ANY firearm ... Glock, Sig, S&W, etc with bulk ammo and the failure to fire from a bad round?

IF you can do that...then you would win.LOL

That is the true test of a die hard 1911 shooter. If you have shot them enough you have had all manner of stoppages. If you have truly mastered the platform you can clear those malfunctions in your sleep, beat on the gun and get it back into the fight faster than most people can change a mag. I have guns that I "think" would be up to the task but not sure I have the $1000 to back it up. LMAO

This is about 1911s.

WHAT IF for the battery get together we set up a sliding scale based on gun price and reputation. You put up say $50 and if you own a glock you have to shoot 200 rounds without fail, taurus 50 rounds. Then do a second round and the winner or winners split the cash.

I'll take that bet on 200 with my G-19, and all day long on the Taurus for 50. But, with the G-19, we may need to extend the gtg to a few more days, lol. Gonna take awhile.

The way I read the OP I’d just need to show up with a 1911 and 300 rounds, then shoot the 300 rounds without a stoppage. Never says that I have to shoot them in the 1911...

I feel very confident about making 300 with a 9mm 1911, I routinely shoot 250 with it. I have 2 1911’s in the correct caliber, but one is very new and the other I’m nursing back to health after dremel dan worked it over, so not as confident.

Suppose I could take them to the range next week and give it a try.
