Pretty sure that was cheaper yesterday

you gonna prevent that felon from getting a CDL license and driving a propane truck? How about working at a restaurant that feeds thousands of people a day? Or maybe he just DGAF about his 'rights', steals a gun out of a unmarked police vehicle, NG Armory (or buys it from someone who steals it) and decides soft targets are still squishy soft? Both of those scenarios have happened in the last several years BTW.
If felons are so much the threat, then lets execute every last one of these felonious law breakers.
Starting with the white collar felons then at the end the drug addicted dealers that support their own opioid habit that started when they were a construction worker getting a prescription from their Dr. Kill em all!
That sounds like some Antifa stuff.Even that will not work. Anything can be smuggled in or made in a garage. The only true way to stop this is to destroy the free will in the human.
I didn't make myself clear in that statement.
If it came down to surrendering my AR or being a felon, I would surrender it. A felon has no Rights and my AR isn't worth all the other rights I would lose by becoming a felon.

You can be a felon and not even know it nowadays.
Just like Columbine and Parkland. Just let them do their thing , when they get out somebody else will have to deal with them.It appears that this guy was a nut case back in high school but he fell through the cracks because someone didn't do anything. I guess because he was a juvenile.

No doubt purchased by one or two in store workers to resell at huge profit.Or retailers are pulling them from being in stock to see what happens.

Oh is just a ramble between my accounting and economic classes I am taking. LOL
I think some of y'all are missing the point I have been making. I'm not advocating anybody taking any guns away, period, full stop.
I'm advocating for less restrictions on owning all types of weapons in exchange for nothing more than what we already do for our CCPs. You want an AR, show me your ccp. You want a suppressor, show me your ccp. You want a new production full auto AK, show me your ccp. This would only apply to guns that would otherwise be banned as they did with the AWB.
Granted we would have to do away with LEO sign off and make some other changes, but this is the best analogy I have come up with so far.
An earlier post [it may have been you] said...Not Paranoid just Prepared. I really like that.Paranoid is a strong term here, anxious is more like it
Damn!!!!!! He's right you know? Hmmmmmmm The New Norm. Pre '68 folks are fewer and farther away.Given the choice between the .gov banning certain weapons and paying to keep my full rights, I would pay.
You already have to do this with class 3 weapons, so what if they put ARs and AKs on the class 3 list instead of banning them altogether. You already have to pay so you can have permission to carry concealed.
What if the Jury decides that your "self defense" shooting was an unjustified killing?
At what point would you not surrender any of your firearms? Would you just keep saying Yesssirr each time they ban something? Surely you have a line in the sand somewhere?
So what is your next step going to be when they say turn in your "assault" weapons or become an instant felon?
Felon = loss of all Rights
I will turn them in. I have a wife and two kids, ARs is not the hill I'm going to die on.
Do you wear your seatbelts when you get in the car? Do you remember when we didn't have to?
You didn't answer the question.
Terry
I think I see where you might be headed, nazi Germany as an example. The Jews faced some of the same decisions and we see how that turned out.
As far as “turning them in”; screw that...not because it’s an AR, but because of a principle that was enumerated on parchment over two centuries ago. It ain’t “their” right to take, g-dammit! It’s mine. They didn’t grant, bestow or allow it...got it the second I was born.
So you're telling me that you don't have to have a permit of some kind to buy a new pistol. You don't have to get someone's permission to buy an SBR? How about a suppressor?
No once have I advocated for banning a weapon or confiscating any either. I have only suggested a different way of doing things that we are already doing. And advocating for lifting restrictions so you can buy what you want.

Exactly...you hit the nail square on the head.
And if anyone ever feeds you that line of BS about, “Oh..well this is America; that’ll never happen here...citizens being put into camps by .gov”...
Not only “can” it happen here...it HAS happened here.
Again,If permits/permission are requirements for having/carrying a weapon, how on earth does the criminal element obtain/carry the ones they have?
Again,

With what? You already turned in your guns so you wouldn't be a felon, remember?Coming for my kids to re educate them, yep there would have a fight on their hands, or one helluva a chase.
Yeah, but your different way is to hand over anything the gov tells you to.

It’s an odd new flavor of fudd. Refreshing.

How so?
Don’t know about that deal, but the individual 30rd PMags went from $7.99 to $8.99 with the same PMag code.Pretty sure that was cheaper yesterday
How's that?

You have said “I’d turn them in so I wouldn’t be a felon.” And “why don’t we just make everything legal as long as you have a magical government issued multi-pass.”
And shortly thereafter claimed that should the boogaloo start you actually in fact didn’t turn everything in so you will have stuff stashed away.
Just seems like “I won’t comply” with extra steps.

Yep, I tend to do that when we talk hypotheticals.
Have I once suggested that anyone else give up their guns? Have I said that any guns should be banned? No, I have simply said that if there was going to be an AWB, we as gun owners could propose a different solution that isn't much different than what we are doing today and have more access to more guns.
