Yep shot the PHA Defensive pistol match on Saturday. It was a good time. I can tell my practice is helping. I feel like I shit very well!

You are a very dangerous man if you are hitting targets with your Shit but not sure I want to be a spectator.

At TSA in Raleigh, wanted to try my recent S&W 10-5 pistol but left the ammo on the desk, :(
did have my Glock 22 with 9mm barrel and ran 30 rounds then headed off to work.

Tuesday, write up coming soon. A whole new, and great, experience!

Thanks for the reminder to get the ammo and actually put it in the range bag!! LoL. I'm headed out soon.

15 rounds of 230 Ball. Colt LW Commander. Now, writing That made me remember. In my younger Colt shootin years, if you said Commander it Meant Lite Weight. If you said Combat Commander it meant Steel pistol. What happened??? Marketing?? Also, ever notice that people say 38 Super and that the barrel in every Colt of that caliber says Super 38? RS says I'm Full of useless info.

Happy to report to all...The down range shed is now Powered Up!!! Lights, Fans, Action!!!!!!

I hit the range today in spite of the heat. I shot really well today with the RIA and the Glock 19! I'll post a thread with targets eventually. My groups are tightening up nicely and I may have (sort of) got a handle on the Glock sights/trigger!

I tried to remember all the advice I've gotten lately, and it seems to be working.

Wanted to head to the range today or Saturday but it has been raining and show rain for the next week.

397DBE46-6EC4-4438-970D-AF6E8DBFA7C1.jpeg Took a few things out today. AKs ran like AKs. AR 9mm had a buffer tube issue but it was its first outing. Glocks ran well except the P80 had a few Issues. First time out too. Decided at the last minute to grab the SKS and wouldn’t you know it it jammed bad. All in all great but hot as heck. Good times with my 13 and 11 yr old boys!

What was the P80 doing?

Gates are open in preparation for a grand day. In attendance @gunbelt, @Chdamn, @Geezer , @Johnny , @garvin, @Button Pusher, @Burt Gummer assorted locals and spouses. Any in the County stop in for a visit. Accumulated mileage for these to be here is great and Yet here they are. As always you are all welcome. Leaving for Sunday Buffet at 11 back in the gates by 1. Stop on by.

I believe I need to dremel some more material out of the center channel. I ran about 50 rds through it and had three stove pipes. It was also ejecting almost straight up in the air. The factory built 17 & 19 were flawless.

That was exactly the problem with my first one. Mine wouldn't return to battery. Just a light touch with my thumb and it would go home. After just a little more material was removed from the channel, it took off to running perfectly.

Grabbed the Glock 19, Walther PPQ, SCCY and the Browning Buckmark for a quick trip to the range. The Glock and Walther had new extended barrels and wanted to see how they shot. No problems except the thread protection cap for the Glock kept coming unscrewed (posted a question in the NFA Section). The SCCY and Browning also ran fine. About 125 rounds through the 9mms and 100 rounds through the Browning.

Oh My Goodness!!!! Did we ever!! RS and I are touched when people we care about travel great distances to join us for a day on the range. We ate, we shot, we ate some more, then shot some more. A perfect day on The Battery Oaks. Ya'll come next time, we'll leave the gate open for you.

I went shooting with a friend today, it was a hot and muggy day. We shot the Sig p238, the RIA 9mm (it was perfect), the Springfield .45, and of course the G19, and of course it was perfection! I have no idea how many rounds were fired, but not a massive amount. It was soooo hot.
A nice day to clang the steel!

We even had a guy drive from Maine to be with us.

Had a couple of guns that I wanted to shoot yesterday, so I stopped at TSA on the way home. First was the FNX45 (non-tactical) that I wanted to test some loads in. The first round did not eject, but the next 70 rounds fed flawlessly. Not sure what was going on with the first one, but I have discovered that this gun likes to be loaded close to factory velocity before it works well, the reduced loads I shoot in my other guns just aren't reliable. Next up was the 25 year old Witness pistol that I just bought, but in transferring it from one range bag to another, I forgot the mags for it. :( Oh, well. Now I have an excuse to stop by the range again. ;)

When I got home from the range, I cleaned the gun and noticed some carbon buildup in the chamber, so I spent some time cleaning that out. Will have to try it again with the same loads.
