@BatteryOaksBilly has put up a dedicated Wizard Drill target at Battery Oaks. Billy will be along dreckly to tell y'all about it.

Bullet, the range dog, approves. He especially likes that it's painted up to match him.

@Hashknife provided the plates, Richard Vines a 35 year shooter Pard worked up the frame, and Carl from Carl's V Twins welded it all up. Without a lot of help we would go lacking around here, Thanks to all.
Looks great. I didn't see where you gave any mention of the photographer of that fine target and dog.

I like it. Will it still be done the same way as the "Old Wizard"?
You could pick a distance and do it all in one go, say 7 yards, and just keep the timer going. You can call it the "Millie Drill" ......

Nice target design work by @BatteryOaksBilly !! You made the Wizard more "user friendly".....! Looks Great!

Does the first person to defeat the New & Improved Wizard get a prize??

I mean, I've "beat the wizard," but how does one defeat this thing?

That would make a great sight acquisition/trigger work exercise. One could continually try to lower their "par" time....

However,
The Wizard is 2.5 seconds.

A LOT can go on in 2.5 seconds if danger is imminent.

Imminent danger can cover a lot of ground in 2.5 seconds.

I get your point, but thought it would be good for gun movement. I'm going to have to give it a go next time I'm there.

It seems you still fire one round at each round plate at the proscribed distances of 9', 15' and 21'. Then at 30' or 10 yds fire two rounds into rectangular plate. Each plate done within 2.5 secs from concealment.

In this video Mr Hackathorn is very judgemental and has strong opinions on people that choose to pocket carry small guns. He goes on to say that they are not competent. Well, I'm going to be very judgemental and I have a strong opinion towards Mr Hackathorn.
I pocket carry and know that I wouldn't be considered competent but I try to be adequate. Heck, I may not even be adequate. But, I personally know people that pocket carry small guns that are very competent. Mr Hackathorn may be a great shooter and accomplished trainer but his remarks are very arrogant and ignorant.

I want a Wizard like that!

When we sell our house, blow up the TV, throw away the paper, go to the country and build us a home... I'm gonna choot it every mornin', like Billy does.
Plant a little garden, eat a lot peaches & try to find Jesus on our on.

This....^^^^^^^

Billy's design makes it easier/faster to run several people through the exercise in a short amount of time.

Even using a single shooter, it eliminates any confusion as to where a shot went during a given stage. Four stages = four targets.
