I carry a clean chop stick. ;)

I shot the new southern defensive pistol league match in Wilkes.
This is basically a match using the old red book idpa rules match.
My first match of this kind in a long time and I enjoyed it greatly.
I be there next month to support the new league.

Run another stress shot for soldiers today. Later this afternoon gave foreign weapons training on the M9 and G19 pistols, M4, AK47, vz58 assault rifles, Enfield rifles and finally on the RPD and PKM Soviet machine guns.

Well, he said it HERE, and its mostly guys here, so.....
You can’t imagine how many supportive PMs I received after that post. I guess they were Chop Stick Supporters. :D

Yes. Not as much as I planned, burn was there for ~3 hours.

Initial run of my 4” 9mm AR pistol. 120 rounds total, five different types of ammo. Some new and some reman, some 147 and some 115, some brass and some aluminum. Two minor issues, but gives me hope it’ll be a handy option once I get my silencer back for it in next week or two.

Also participated in the rimfire challenge. CZ455 w/ AAC Element 2. I think it was 20 rounds of CCI SV and 50 rounds of Eley something or other. Managed to leave the bag with rimfire mags at the house, so luckily it has one inserted hat I just kept reloading. :(

But a day at the range bears a day a work. Not a single other person in the tactical bays at PHA, which was nice.

Can't remember it Ever being this hot. I'm sure my age has something to do with it, but Damn the Range is hot!!!
I hope you got some coolness planned for Sunday? (I almost had a heat stroke today at my range!) Shall I bring a fan to add to the one you have there?

1500 rds of 7.62 NATO out of the minigun today, fired it out into the Afghan country side. Also received three rockets/mortar rounds.

'Tis far better to give than receive.

Stay safe over there.

Yep. Went to FLD and shot 400 rounds through a G17, G19, P320 and Scorpion Evo. Handguns were at 25yds and the Scorpion was at 25 and 50yds

Shot about 175 rounds of. .22lr at DPRC 2gun Rimfire match. Finished about middle of the pack. Getting harder to stay ahead of all the amazing young shooters. Still tons o' fun. Come on out.20190713_194706.jpg

Half painted gates are Open!!!! They Will come...Not claiming any connection But since the recent storm the damn Heat and Skeeters are awful. We have not had a Skeeter problem all year and now they are Here. When you are walking at a good pace they will get in your face, eyes, and ears to distract you while there buddies bite the backs of your knees, your spinal column and any other exposed soft spot.

Headed to the range today with only 2 guns, Savage 6.5 and CZ 204 Ruger. 40 Round for each gun, the 6.5 was 140 EDL and the 204 was 32 and 40 grn bullets. I found some of the most adverse conditions that I have ever shot in. The bench rest chairs are normally white but they were black today and moving. Yes moving, I have never seen so many love bugs in my life. They were not bad on the ride to the range because they were all there.
Today was a day for total concentration. When looking down the scope, those damn bugs would get on the lenses if the scope, start landing on your hands and crawling up your leg. I managed to have a pretty good day for my standards. At 300 yards, there is targets ranging from 12" to 3" and all were hit with both guns a number of times. Out to 400, I only shot the 8" diamond and the 3" circle, again with both guns. Now to the 500 yard, I could not tell if the 204 was hitting any steel out there but the 6.5 was hitting down to a 4x6 inch steel plate. I tried the either 1/2 or inch by 4" steel but it survived. My red dot covered the target.
Got home and took off my t-shirt and it looked like my back was shot with a splatter gun with all the smashed love-bugs from leaning against the back of the chair.

Billy, try taking some garlic oil pills (maybe 1000 mg) about 1/2 hour before going outside. It works!!!!!!! There was an article on how Disney keeps the skeeters down in the park and the last think that they said was that they put garlic in the water (not enough to smell). Some one told me to use them on my dog to keep the bugs off and then I tried it. Again, IT WORKS but you have to give it a half of an hour before you go outside.

Doing some load development for a Rem 700 PSS and a 5R both in 308. Decided to shoot some reference/sanity check factory loads. I know some folks wont believe it and I didnt until I walked down range to pull the target. Rem 700 5R, Jewell trigger, Sightron SIII 6-24x50, Harris Bipod and Protektor rear bag off the bench, 100yds, 3 shots, 175gr SMK Federal Gold Medal Match, orange and gold box.

The last visitor Just left and Millie Just called to say she made it home safe. We had 12 today. Raisin/Nut cake and ice cream for all. @Mustang Jon , @Geezer , @Millie , Cousin Jerry, and several more made for a great day at Battery Oaks. NONE of us killed the Wizard. He is a tough old bird and I believe I hear him laughing at us. The most humiliating 5 shots a man can take. Remember...Cold...Concealed...One try only....He's a hard one.

I wish you all could be here on a wonderful day like today. We had CFFers from York today. Quite a pilgrimage. One month to the CFF Meet and Greet II.

Yes, @12151791 and his lovely wife were first time visitors today. It was very nice meeting them. They couldn't stay long but I think they'll be back.

Yup, I got one shot off at the wizard and that was all she wrote. I can hear him laughing right now.
Yep, it was a hot mess for me, but I did get a time for those shots to let me know how much more work I need to do....and now I worry about where that third shot ended up....who did I hit when I missed the bad guy? It's a scary thought.
May we all do better next time! lol.

The far plate is 70yds and the shoot n C targets are at 50. The TRS25 dot has become a blob to my aging eyes so I figure I would put her eyes to good use lol

Does she have a sister?
