Do this Paul Harvey style and give up the rest of the story...

He was dropped behind the beaches the night before D-Day with the 101st. He and his buddies came across an armored car and looked inside. It was full of French Francs. Full!

They figured it was German counterfeit notes but did grab a few handfuls just for fun and souvenirs.

Years after the war, he showed the few he had left to an aquaintance who was a banker. Good as gold.

His name was Donald Burgett. He wrote several books about his experiences. His books are like a bottle of good wine in that they go down well in one sitting.
