- Use case is a suppressed 10.3" 5.56/.223 SBR

- With the current setup, the fore end length and suppressor mount (SiCo Omega brake) can sometimes interfere with getting a 'straight shot' through the front for allen keys.

So...what's your favorite adjustable gas block? .750". Easy to adjust, reliable, yada yada yada....

I do NOT want to go with an adjustable bolt carrier.

My 10.5” and 12” 5.56, and my 12 6.8, all have SLR Sentry 7 AGBs. They’ve worked well for me...but I’ve never used another brand.

Superlative arms, by far. The detent (no setscrew) and bleed-off option makes it worth every penny. One of the things I ever did for my .308 ARs.

I've used SLR's extensively for my competition rifles. No matter what you do they will freeze. If you approach any kind of high round counts. Serious p.i.a. I can only imagine how much worse it would be with a can.
The quality is good and the CS is great. But I won't buy anymore. Likely go with the SA next time.

I use a Odin Works basic one on my 3gun rifle. I control the ammo, so its a set it/forget it one. It works great and you can fine tune it much more than a detent style. So it works great and does everything it needs to do.

For a can it seems you need two setting easily changed. Like a switchblock.

$500!! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Might as well just buy a second (ok, 7th) rifle....

Mine (SLRs) are set for suppressed shooting. You have to manually cycle them if you remove the can.

Shooting unsuppressed is simply barbaric and uncivilized. :D

So every champion I ever met was a luddite!

This one? Have you used it with an SBR? I'm somewhat concerned about burning my fingers with the gas bleeding out of the block. BUT, as a lefty shooter, I really like the idea of that gas going somewhere other than my face.

it has other settings than the bleed off. It will constrict the gas passage like every other gas block on the planet in the first couple of settings. And the gas vents forward......

With the carbine length gas, my grip is forward of the gas block.

In case anyone was interested, I found the magic combination...

- blue Sprinco recoil spring
- h3 / 5.4oz buffer
- Superlative Arms gas block about 1/2 way open

Runs great with Wolf Gold 55s a commercial 77gr match load, both suppressed and unsuppressed.

Cool.

Why an H3 heavy buffer if you have adjustable gas?

It works?

I couldn’t find that magical setup that allowed suppressed and unsuppressed with both bullet weights and without having to make adjustments until I put the blue (heavier) spring and H3 buffer in.

I also suspect that the OdinWorks block I had in place before is defective. FWIW

Ahh. Just curious. I don’t have much experience with cans and 556.
