Sig P365 or G19...used to carry a .38 in the front pocket but it's been replaced by the 365.
LOL. I tried that with mine, way too heavy. I was sad.My .45 1911 is heavier than I want to carry.
Ask Billy if you can try his g21 (?) with the flames on the slide! It was awesome to shoot, he did some stuff to the grip, and it was totally shoot-able for me. I want one just like it!I kinda regret getting rid of a Sig P230. Great gun, awesome even, but seemed 'silly' in comparison to smaller & lighter 9mm options available.
I really, really liked the Ruger SR9C, but shot the G26 better & went that route instead. For some reason, I didn't shoot the G30 well at all, so that nixed a .45 Glock for me. If Ruger had released a SR45C, I'd most likely be carrying that.
Don’t flames damage the holster?Ask Billy if you can try his g21 (?) with the flames on the slide! It was awesome to shoot, he did some stuff to the grip, and it was totally shoot-able for me. I want one just like it!
Great article in The Blue Press. Please, get it and read it. This very Poll proves the author's point. The title of the article is....Why The .45 ACP Failed.
He pointed out that at a major match recently there were TWO shooters using .45s. Great read. And this poll bears it out.
Luckily for me, it wasn't in my holster! lol. That thing would have melted.Don’t flames damage the holster?
I didn't know they make those in Tiffany BlueP365

I believe Sig refers to it as "Robin Egg Blue with a slight Tiffany hue".I didn't know they make those in Tiffany Blue

I would carry my 9mm 1911 if it would behave and quit having issues! LoL. I did carry it for almost 4 weeks before it decided to act up. Awesome gun...when it's being good!About 1/3 of the time.
Sometimes a Sig P229 (9mm)
Sometimes a Sig P220 (.45)
Sometimes a 1911 (.45)
I would carry a 1911 in 9mm if I can get a Sringfield EMP4
Thanks for the "young lady"....lol.What's it doing to you young lady?
Ken Hackathorn the greatest proponent of the 1911 platform calls them "The King of Feedway Stoppages".I have never been a 1911 fan. Not reliable enough, for me. For serious purpose anyway.
So far the .45 1911 is going great, and it's awesome to shoot. lol. The .45 does have a Wilson Combat magazine (I think), but the 9mm has the one RIA sent after the "repair" and some CMC magazines. It's been tried with others. If I may be so bold to offer a suggestion out of the blue ( and my ignorance). I am just a fat old man but I had had similar issues with .45 caliber 1911s. If it happens with FMJ ammo is one thing. Sometimes the differing Hollow Point configurations can create issues too.
I won't buy ANY magazines for mine that are not made by Bill Wilson. I only use 47D Wilson Combat Mags and have no issues. If I tried that and polished the feed ramp a smidge and it did not work flawless, I would sell it.
I'll certainly give them a try. Thanks!FWIW, I would buy a Wilson mag. They make 9mm mags for a 1911. Might even give them a call.
Just $0.02 from an old fat man.
Good luck dear, let me know what works please.
I too was a slave to the Wilson Brand. A few weeks ago I had a conversation with John Travis on a PM. I told him I was going to do an experiment with 15 1911 pistols in rotation. 10 Colts and some others for good measure. I am now in several weeks and several rounds down range...with no Malfunctions that could possibly be remotely magazine related.I won't buy ANY magazines for mine that are not made by Bill Wilson. The "spearment" was I am Only using U.S. WWII or earlier straight lipped ,or hard ball as we used to call them magazines.
Sooooo, guns in "spec" using WWII technology and Hardball=No Malfunctions.
Just THE reason me and mine run Ball in our guns. Life Can be easy IF you allow it.
Bill Wilson in his book says...I am amazed that people will spend Thousands of dollars on a hand built gun and then search high and low for a round that it will Not feed.
I have Several 1911s. In the 1970s we carried guns that we spent Hundreds of dollars on, more than the cost of the guns, with Great gunsmiths to have a gun that would Absolutely function [sorta]. Today we can buy guns for $400 that will outperform anything we had...insofar as reliability.
I have the top shelf of my safe with a Bunch of 1911s . In them All only 1 for sale, a new Ruger Commander, the rest will be there for a long while. I will NOT venture outside the gates with one , I have other stuff for that.
The Ruger is quite possibly Better than any of the other guns , BUT, it is new. It has no Soul. See ya'll the 19th!
Well stated, and hard to argue with anything you've stated sir!
What few ills I have had with my Kimber, Springfield or Colt 1911s have been quite easily narrowed down to a visibly worn extractor or magazine springs. I am not sure if it's the angle, the rounded follower (vs flat) or just damn luck. But using a Wilson mag normally fixed it...
...probably just luck huh!
So, what pray tell do you consider the quintessential level of firearm flawlessness; are you Gucci Glock guy?
No, you don't seem the type to have a tricked out purple plastic gun with a 32 round magazine and a red dot on top.
My guess is that you're an all metal CZ kinda guy!
On that count Ben you are correct. As to what I carry..I am in a constant evolution. For many years it was a full size Colt 1911 or a Commander...then a decade of 2 J Frames...To simplify things for you I Always carry 2 Always. I carried 2 G26s for a long time, then 2 G43s. Inside the Gates I usually carry a G26 with G19 mags and sleeves. Outside the Gates I carry differently. Last week all week I carried 2 LCPs and a Taurus Spectrum, all 3 loaded with Underwood Ammo. This coming week I am back to 2 J frames. Today on the Range I am going after the Wizard with a S&W Model 65.No, you don't seem the type to have a tricked out purple plastic gun with a 32 round magazine and a red dot on top.
