Hey folks, does anyone have a pet 6.5 Grendel load with BL-C(2) powder and 123gr SST or 123 HPBT match?

I’ve tried H335 and found it to be decent but never found an accuracy node that impressed me, I have a couple of CFE223 loads with the 123s that were impressive and I’ll probably pick up an 8lb jug soon but I’ve got a lb of BL-C(2) I want to load up a ladder with, Alexander Arms has some data but their Min/Max data is super tight at 31.5/31.8, hell my “Perfect Powder Measurer” isn’t even that accurate lol

What velocity are you getting with those?

what barrel length?
Velocity, I don’t recall. I was more focused on accuracy. When this combo put 5 rounds in one hole at 100 yards, I stuck with it. The loading manual showed 29g to be the max load.
I had McGowen make an 18” modified hbar 1/8” SS hand lapped barrel.

I’ve yet to see what it’ll do past 250 yards. I need to make a plea to ‘someone’ up the street that just put in a 500m range.

I’m using a 18” BA premium barrel. Haven’t shot it yet. The 20” howa I had, pushed the factory berger 130 at like 2505 I think

Thanks guys, I went out to The Range Complex near Fayetteville and they have a public accessible 600 yard range with steel from 200 to 600, I will be going back down there after the Battery Oaks gathering.

I just ordered 2K 123gr nosler 6.5s from shootersproshop for under 20 cents each. Hard to beat that. No association with them (they do Nosler's overruns and blems) but thought those in this thread might like it:

Very nice! I’ll definitely keep an eye on that site for my next batch of projectiles.

I settled on the Alexander Arms load data and I’m going to stick to the 31.5 grain of BL-C(2) load for now, I was shocked to see the case fill up to the shoulder with such a fine powder though.

I’m running a 24” barrel and according to the data provided a 123gr Sierra BTHP Match should be right around 2540 FPS, which should have the legs to get 500+ provided they shoot well.

Thanks again for the info, I’m still very new to rolling my own ammo but I’m learning pretty quickly and enjoying it a good bit!
