Hey I’m thinking about selling a can. Any advice or tips on how to sell on the private market. All laws apply and not trying to skirt any NFA rules

You need to find somebody in the same state. Otherwise there’s two Form 4s, which means 2x$200 in stamps...which is why the used NFA market is weak other than MGs.

Assuming you’re selling as a non-SOT, you can sell to anybody 18+...so you ought to find somebody in the 18-20 age bracket that will jump on it.

Do you own it directly, or through a trust?

Thanks for the input. Thinking about selling a AAC 7.62 SD and severa flash hider connects.
Do you not like the 51T? Or is there some other reason?

You can have that silencer converted to the Omega thread pitch and use several other QD systems instead. And sell the flash hiders to cover most, of kit all, of the cost.

Just tossing the idea out there.

Which AAC 7.62 SD do you have?
All inconel or Inconel & S/S
How do you like the can?
Are you selling to get something different or just to eliminate having the trust and hardware? And to "get off the list" when "the govment" comes looking?

I have the 7.62 that’s Inconel and SS. I have had it maybe a year and only shot 40 rounds through it. I’m selling because I don’t have time or options for rifles and getting out of it. I’m more into pistols now.

Ive sold cans before that I didnt like. No big deal. Form 4 from your trust to another trust or individual. You just hold onto it until paprwork clears. Has to be in state. I have a friend looking to buy one . PM me.

Doesn’t have to be in state. Just takes two transfers and a dealer in their state, as I mentioned earlier.

Yes, but then you are talking multiple stamps and dealer fees for an interstate transfer . In state person to person with no dealer involved is one stamp only. Selling a silencer almost never makes financial sense and really only makes sense in state unless its something like a rare collectors item unless you have something you just can't stand. . Machine guns sure. Silencers not so much.

...which is what I explained earlier in the thread.

I was simply clarifying that you’re not legally limited to selling to in-state people. You most likely won’t sell to out-of-state, due to the financial issues and associated wait times...but you can.

Hold on there. Ill talk to my guy and get back asap. Id buy it myself, like I need another silencer, but Im in SC.
We were out shooting yesterday and I about pulled that AR out of his hands and chucke it down range. Shooting without supression is rude.

So y’all just need to have a joint trust for this one item and move it back and forth between states. :D

You got it. Pictures coming later this afternoon when I’m home.

Like I said...like I need another. Ive already got 3 30 cal rifle cans . What I really need is another pistol can. I like my 45 Tirant but swapping pistons is a pain at the range. One of those short 45 cans would be nice.
