Recognize this pistol?

It also looks like an Anschutz olympic but it's not either of those. My google fu has failed me on this one.

It's certainly an off-the-wall pistol!

EDIT: What's Swedish for "Bubba?" :)
Actually, it looks like it's still ON the wall. :D

While it has resemblances to an XP-100, it's not. Although, it does seem to have that Mohawk front sight and rib going on. It appears to be .22 due to the rear cocking handle. I'd say a XP-100 inspired .22 rifle cut down to be a hunter pistol. Or inversely, it's older and inspired the XP-100. :D

Modified Anschutz Exemplar I believe.....
Bolt doesn’t seem to have the right bend, and the trigger is the wrong shape, but it might just be older than any I’ve seen or modified.

Every silhouette pistol I can find on the web has the bolt handle on the left. This gun looks like a cut down rifle in a handmade stock. Even the trigger guard looks hand made. I just can't figure out which action it's made from.

ETA @NCFubar got it I think

Pretty sure that is a prototype of the only approved firearm in the upcoming President Warren Administration. All game and targets will be shot with that single shot atrocity.

Unless it’s the government doing the shooting of course. Their equipment will be a slight bit better.

I know a few guys that competed with XP, My money is on them over jack-booted Fudds.

I don't find that humorous!

The sky is falling, the sky is falling!

I agree. I thought I had read somewhere that it is illegal to convert a rifle to a handgun by cutting it down.

I'm going to throw in a vote for a cut-down Anschutz Karabiner Single Shot 22 LR Rifle.

Receiver, bolt handle location, cocking piece and receiver ring look similar to this

I shot XP's for several years. I had a 221 Fireball & a 7mm BR. I killed a truckload of groundhogs with that Fireball.

Take a look at the placement of the extractor. We need better pics.

Not sure if this was made from an existing pistol, or the age of it. May not have a s/n on it.
The extractor location reminds me of the Ruger MK pistol.

Thanks, he had a good life, 92. My Aunt is 93. We all should be so lucky.

If you have any say in the matter be careful what home you put her in. My mom had s stroke and was airlifted to Duke. When she came home she had to fo into a home. We put her in the one in the town that she and I lived in. After a week we moved her to the one where my brother lived. The were both owned by the same people but it was nite and day difference in the two. She only lived about a month more but the peace of mind it gave us knowing she was better cared for was worth me having to travel to visit.

My sister and brother in law wanted the gun gone, they gave it to a LEO he knows to sell it.
We'll see if they give me any info on it.
