Cigar of the day

Thanks! I'm in the process of experimenting, trying some that I've never tried before.
Really seeking a robusto or petite corona that has a sweet/creamy taste without being infused.
Trying a few AF Hemingways and Don Carlos, and just ordered a selection of Nat Shermans to try.

I've finished setting up my HUGE coolerdor that will eventually reside at the lake cabin, and I just picked up a smaller
wine cooler to convert for home use.
Gotta fill them with something!

Do you order from Cigars Intl?

I usually order from Atlantic cigars, and cigar bid is quite the money pit as well...

Best mild, creamy cigar I've had is the 5 Vegas Gold, I'd send you one but they went up in smoke. Lol

I'm trying to talk the wife into going for the Drew Estates cigar safari for vacation one year. So far it's not worked out...

Just finished this masterpiece! Best stick I've had!
Arturo Fuente Don Carlos #3 (5.5 x 44)
Lists as a medium/full but I'd rate it a medium.
Excellent stick! The Cameroon wrapper adds a slightly creamy taste to a nutty, aged, slightly oily finish.
The flavors never changed from start to finish, nor did the smoothness.
Excellent burn, easy draw (I use a Cuban Crafters Perfect Cut cutter).
One of the best things about this stick was that the draw produced huge smoke...but you could hardly tell that it was lit
as it stood idle.
Ash held to the halfway point without being babied and never dropped again. I smoked this puppy till the very end, hoping that there
was no end!
Flavors and strength stayed the same from start to finish, never had any stick do that.
Cost is at my upper limit at just under $9 (at the 5 pack price)...but I'll be ordering a box!

Wait a moment, you're INSIDE and smoking a fine stogie. I'm jealous.

Mondays are always late dinner days...so I decided to have a smoke beforehand.
Today it's a CAO Gold Corona Gorda (natural). It's been in my humidor for at least a year.
This is a mild stick, really good draw and burn, light hints of spices with a faint hint of cedar.
Mellow compared to my usuals, but really nice.
This is another one that barely smokes when idle, but produces tons of smoke on the draw.
This stick definitely has it's place, just can't pinpoint where. I'm thinking maybe a summertime mid day "on the dock" kinda cigar.
Goes well with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Stayed mild all the way, but the faint spice graduated into something that took me awhile to identify....best I can describe is a very faint black cherry.
Never got that out of a cigar before....but I like it!

It's been Monday part two...

Cheap stick quest.
Found this at the local "tobacco" store for $1.19 each in a 20 count bundle, figured I'd give it a shot.
Not bad, but probably not worth a review. Probably one of those "sit down and have a cigar and not worry about the cigar or anything else" kinda smokes.
Second half actually got better....might not be bad with some age on it.

Edit; Just noticed the "non tobacco ingredients added"....no wonder it cut like trying to cut a rope!

Been looking at the Nubs!....reviews and specs are good. I'll try some once the stick funds allow.
Another fine choice. Made by Oliva as well. These are heavy on the flavor and pack a mild punch until you get to the end, then it's a powerhouse in the nicotine department.

Short fillers?

I have been unimpressed with Oliva lately. Bought some V lanceros and they were all terrible. The 5pk of G's I bought were all plugged. The last Cain F I got was plugged. Just some overall crappy QC. - The melanio dbl robustos I had were good, but I prob won't risk anything from them again.

A guy I just hired brought me a Davidoff colorado claro and Tatuaje (forgot the series, black band). Look fwd to those when it warms up outside.

Trying a 5 Vegas Gold today. Pretty smooth but still on the mild ones, will try some medium ones soon. Taking it easy to start. :)

Graycliff

My uncle was good friends with the owner of Graycliff and he used to sponsor a charity event my uncle did. He would bring the number 1 cigar roller from Cuba (who worked for Graycliff) to the Columbian embassy in DC for a pre party and he would roll fresh cigars and hand them to you to smoke right then. Some of the best cigars I have ever smoked.

Also the only brand in my cheap cigar box.

Got done and felt like a smoke, didn't bring any, so the search began. Found a quaint little shop and made the hike over to it. Most of the usual well known brands that people would pop in for. Nothing struck me as "oh I need that" but grabbed a undercrown shade and a nica rustica. Gave it a cut lit it up and started the walk back. 20 minutes back to the hotel and now sitting out front enjoying the smell of freshly laid mulch (blech) and enjoying the people watching.

Still holdong strong. No real transitions to speak of, just a mild to medium good smoke.

I checked out "Tobacco Merchant" in Hendersonville today after a doctor's appointment. Neat little place with a smoking lounge. Nice sized walk-in humidor but fairly slim pick'n, could have had twice the inventory, but I may have caught them at the tail end of of something.
I stopped mainly to get a few A/F Hemingways after learning of the recent huge theft of the Fuente cargo container in Florida...may be awhile before any more are available.
"Paul" (proprietor) turned me on to an Alec Bradley Tempus Terra Nova...an excellent stick! A bit stronger than my norm, but very nice!
No pics cuz I smoked it on the way home.

Went there yesterday and was recommended Acid Kuba Kuba by Paul. Little sweeter than was expecting, but a pretty smooth smoke. Was his dog in the shop? Forget its name, but nice. Might try to get there after work one day and just relax. Like you said fairly slim pickings, but reasonably priced. Will visit again I'm sure since work only a couple blocks away.

Rolled on the ass cheeks of a hairy German Shepherd with a hint of bacon! Available all this month!

Finally lit my Liga Privada #9 this weekend. Wow!....great smoke! Sitting lakeside by the campfire didn't hurt :)
The Liga Privada T-52 is next...most rate it higher than the #9.

T-52 is better than the #9 IMO, but the UF13 is the best of the bunch!
