I'd like to see the actual video, I assumed liveleak would have it. I couldn't find it yesterday and I won't FakeBook.

it’s been posted and removed from liveleak three times that I know of. Haden has neutered that website

It shows a couple of older teenagers that had shot a pretty large buck (nice deer) and they were kicking it in the face and stepping on its neck while it was clearly trying to escape them by dragging itself away by its front feet. Probably a spine shot, way back. It was sad.

The idea of wanting to do something like that to an animal is just something I can't comprehend, though I suspect that they're only a small step removed from doing it to a person instead.

There must be something really messed up, and really small, inside of them to cause them to take pleasure in such an act.

I think a huge problem these days is that kids have unfettered access to the internet and far less empathy as a rule. They learn from machines more than people and most of their icons are garbage people aggrandized for garbage reasons.

This ^^^^^^ No father or mother raising them properly. It's a problem with very serious consequences for our future. Glad I grew up when and where I did.

I'll be the first to fight you guys for a place in line. Every >real< hunter knows that a quick kill is the ultimate goal. Mistakes happen and bad shots occur. But it is the job of the hunter to put the animal down asap. Anything less is animal cruelty and should be tried as such.

very true, my sisters girls are growing up in a good home, they go to church, but my sister and her husband let their iPads babysit them. They learned about stuff I didn’t even hear of until I was 18 years old.

These once sweet kids are turning out to be mean, self-centered little heifers with absolutely zero empathy for others.

These boys have a history of this. One of their friends grabbed a woodchuck and bashed it against a bridge and tossed it over.

The sad thing is that before their social media got wiped, there were pictures of them when younger hunting and showing proper respect. What went wrong? Parents... that is where.

And then they wonder why people get upset at hunters.

Tie them up naked in the woods during rut with some fake antlers and strong buck sent sprayed all over them. See how they fare against a horny buck fighting for territory.

You ain't thinkin right. Same senario but no antlers and tie them on all fours with doe scent.

Lifetime ban from any hunting or fishing and seize their weapons used while "hunting." Even then, I think that is too light of a sentence.

I'm not going to watch the video. It really bothers me to see people needlessly hurt animals.

Real hunters respect the animals they hunt. They try to make clean shots and quick kills, and if they wound the animal, they'll put it down with a follow up shot so it doesn't have to suffer. My father and uncle both taught me that as a kid learning to hunt.

There's something deeply wrong with someone who finds pleasure in torturing a dying animal. A lack of proper parenting was likely the start, but I bet those guys have gone beyond that. Lifetime bans from hunting/fishing, confiscation of the guns/gear used in that hunt would be a good start. Ideally, they need a real punishment. Jail time, fines, or a long stint of community service.

And a good, old fashioned, passionate butt whoopin.

Quick trial, 10 lashes each, loss of hunting license for 5 years, $5,000 fine, send them home. Should take no more than a week.

Not good enough. Tie em down and cram dried gum tree balls up their butts until they pass out, then add more for good measure.

There is a fine line to be walked here.

This is not appropriate behavior and these kids are morons.

But I’m not comfortable with the government being in charge of what’s “cruelty” and what’s not.

I hear ya Tail but there is a difference between a clean kill or a clean followup shot and torturing an animal for no good reason. Their acts were unconscionable. The citizenry can't legally stop it or we'd get thrown in jail, so the duties fall to the ones that enforce the laws on the books. JMHO

Thats why you get to be tried by your peers.

It's obviously unethical but is there anything in our statutes that would make this illegal?

NCGS 14-360 makes it a felony to torture an animal but the section does not apply to "lawful taking of animals under the jurisdiction and regulation of the Wildlife Resources Commission"

From what I've read, they have a history of torturing animals. They had videos of stomping cats and opossum on their Instagram page, and one of their mom's condoned it, saying who hasn't stomped a cat or opossum before. One of the kids step dad is a cop, and bio dad owns a barbeque shop. Supposedly, the whole town knows about these sick jackholes. It's sad, when someone can do this to a animal, it will get worse and ramp up. Just wish I could catch some of these types before it would get bad. I did witness a neighbor of my fil's about 10 years ago kick the crap out of his little dog because it peed on his flower bed. Let's just say no words were spoken, but a seriously hard Thai kick was placed right on his thigh between the knee and top of where the quad runs. Dude went down like a rock. I just walked away. I don't put up with that crap.

Freedom is a hard pill for some folks.

Didn’t the prez just sign something making it a big ole felony to be cruel to animals.
Of course hunting, trapping, fishing and the like are not considered punishable under this new law, YET.

I’d let a few of these stupid incidents pass to ensure that those freedoms mentioned above are still allowed for my grandkids. You are always going to have morons in this world, killing freedom because of them is just not acceptable.

Just as much money and effort to limit our gun rights are spent outlawing the above mentioned freedoms every year.

“If doing away with hunting would just save one life, it would be worth it.”

Every year tons of idiotic reasons are used to limit or do away with our freedoms, that in and of itself should piss you off way more then what this video portrays.

I saw the video and stopped it after only a few seconds. Really disturbing that “kids”, people for that matter could be so cruel.
Can’t help but think something deep inside is BAD wrong with them and always will be....they should get what they gave there, but that would mean a torturous death.

Forgot to mention.
Part of what is so disturbing is they were not enraged or even angry. They were excited, laughing and beyond happy doing this cruelty!

Yeah, these guys need to be held still and beaten like they are doing to other living creatures. That's the only way they will learn empathy. To endure what they make others endure. Eye for an eye. I read that in a book somewhere.

"the righteous man has regard for the life of his beast, but even the compassion of the wicked amounts to cruelty" - Proverbs.

I quoted that to my wife when we were dating for why I would not treat animals badly and why I would only kill what I ate or was a genuine pest. Her response was that she had no idea the bible had anything to say about "animal rights."

My response was that the bible has some principle that applies to pretty much everything. She thought me a weird case at the time.

They are for sure but the people pushing their agendas see them as the same thing. Don’t allow emotions to produce laws that make us all felons just because we hunt, fish or trap.

With all due resp0ect, if n9t corrected by laws and law enforcement, how are the perpetrators to be punished, or should they? Hunters are already vilified as being cruel for even a clean kill, much less making a piss poor shot and then kicking the damn deer around and laughing about it.
Hypothetical situation:
A person is outside in his front yard kicking his dog around. The dog is obviously in pain and cannot or will not defend itself by biting the shit out of its owner to make him stop.
Should that be defined that as animal cruelty, or should it be ignored and allowed to continue? Should someone step in either in person or call law enforcement to stop it?

We need red flag laws for animal cruelty, something must be done.
