Ok all.............Here's the thread to post up all of your favorite restaurants along with the location so that when we all travel around we'll know where the best food is.

Post a name and the location to keep it easy for us to find them !

The Inn at Gideon's Ridge in Blowing Rock, NC

The very best food I have eaten in a restaurant, ever!

My tastes are simple...

On my wife's days off we'll often get Calabash style seafood at NC Seafood at the NC Farmer's Market in Raleigh

Other days off we'll get wings at Apex Wings. The wings are great, the waitresses are hilarious, and it's one of the hidden "dives" where there are usually only locals, which is rare in the Containment Area.

Wife also loves McAlister's Deli in Apex which also happens to be where we eat after matches, and/or with our college kids in Wilmington.

After matches at H20 we gather at Chargrill in Benson

@blewis3 turned us on to Peruvian Charcoal Chicken in Sanford after matches at Deep River

Chef and the Farmer, 120 W Gordon St, Kinston, NC 28501 (252) 208-2433: the most expensive meal I've ever bought! Also the best meal I've ever had at a restaurant!! I understand the Boiler Room Oyster Bar across the street is good also, but I've never eaten there.

Lindley Park Filling Station, 2201 Walker Ave, Greensboro, NC 336-274-2144: great little sandwich shop in the Lindley Park neighborhood of Greensboro. I've heard they have the best Reuben in town. Screw that! Go for the Springwood (Hot pastrami, spicy dijon mustard, swiss cheese on toasted marble rye). Best hot pastrami I've found in GSO! And their Sunday Brunch is great.

Yum Yum Better Ice Cream and Hot Dogs, 1219 Spring Garden St, Greensboro, NC (336) 272-8284: Hot dogs (no onions but every thing else for me) and a chocolate shake. It don't get no better than this!

MJ's Raw Bar and Grill, 216 Middle St, New Bern, NC 252-635-6890: consistently good. So good, in fact, that we've been known to eat there twice in one day.

Danny's Cafe, 110 W Front St, Burlington, NC 336-226-4422: nothing fancy, just a good little hole-in-the-wall cafe. Great breakfast!

Smokey Joe's BBQ, 1101 S. Main St., Lexington, NC 336-249-0315: try the ribs (Wednesday and Saturday)! I tell you like a friend and a brother!

Full Moon Oyster Bar, 103 W Main St, Jamestown, NC 336-307-2887: Oyster Monday (Edit: now $0.85/ea oysters on the half shell). Do I really need to say anything else?

Cheesecakes by Alex, 315 S Elm St, Greensboro, NC 336-273-0970: O!M!G!

Finz Grill and Bar, 330 Front St, Beaufort, NC 252-728-7459: our go to restaurant in Beaufort. Some of the best fried oysters I've ever had!

Royal James Cafe, 117 Turner Street, Beaufort, NC: a hole-in-the-wall pool hall that serves some of the best greasy hamburgers and cheese burgers that you've ever had.

Food Dudes, 1216 S Virginia Dare Trail, Kill Devil Hills, NC 252-441-7994: funky little restaurant in a small strip mall. I've never been disappointed here.

San Luis Restaurant, 1503 W Lee St, Greensboro, NC 336-851-2158: the best Mexican, that I've found anyway, in GSO. On par with the food I got in Mexico City.

Deano's Barbecue, 140 N Clement St, Mocksville, NC 336-751-5820: yeah I know it says barbecue. All you need to know is: the homemade Pimento Cheese burgers!

Clarks Barbecue, 1331 Nc Highway 66 S, Kernersville, NC 336-996-8644: There are two things you need to know about Clarks: 1) the Double Deluxe Cheeseburger and 2) the course chopped BBQ with the bark on it. Oh baby!

Nina's Classic Cuisine, 111 Central Park Ave, Olmsted Village, Pinehurst, NC 910-235-4600: stumbled onto this place when Elaine had her hip replaced at Moore Regional. Slightly upscale but not bad and the food was great.

Now straying further afield...

McNamara's Irish Pub and Restaurant, 2740 Old Lebanon Rd, Nashville, TN 615-885-7262: Elaine and I stumbled onto this place. Probably the best Irish Pub I've ever been in. The Scotch Eggs were exquisite. And they draw a proper Black and Tan!

Uncle Bud's Catfish Shack, 2719 Old Lebanon Rd, Nashville, TN 615-678-8080: The best fired catfish I've had this side of Arkansas. And the Arkies know catfish!

Delta Q, 1112 N Washington St, Forrest City, AR 870-633-1234: "Purveyors of fine Southern swine". Rated the #1 restaurant in Forrest City and I know why. They bring out fresh pork rinds like Mexican restaurants bring out chips and salsa. And they have barbecue egg rolls! Hello Lexington! Are you listening?!

Pal's Sudden Service, 1735 Fort Henry Dr, Kingsport, TN 423-247-3360: I'd heard the burgers were good. I had heard correctly! The burger was one of the best fast food burgers I've ever had! They have an orange cream milk shake that tastes like an orange Creamsicle! YUM! Drive through only.

The Branding Iron, 104 E Scott Ave, Wichita Falls, TX 940-723-0338: we just think that we've had good brisket...

The Catfish Hole, 24 Collum Ln W, Alma, AR 479-632-9718: I'll put it to you this way, Elaine and I plan our trips to Colorado so that we can eat here going and coming. Some of the best fried catfish I've ever had. And the fried pies are to die for! What more can I say?

Chappy's, 213 Main St, 213 Main Street, Westcliffe, CO 719-783-0813: One of the consistently good restaurants in town. Burgers cooked over wood coals. Fresh cut fries. And Smithwicks on tap. Yum!

Silver Cliff Mountain Inn & Restaurant, 700 Ohio Street, Silver Cliff, CO 719-783-2688: Family style restaurant in the Wet Mountain Valley. Since The Mining Company closed this is my go to breakfast restaurant. Breakfast burritos in 8", 10" and 12" sizes. Stuffed with diced potatoes, scrambled eggs and sausage (or bacon) and covered with green pork chili. Best be hungry if you order the 12" one!

Jd's smoke House, exit 103 in Burke county NC,not only some good smokey flavored barbacue, but the sides are excellent as well, it only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and if you go at peak times be prepared to wait in line.

The Sweet Onion, Waynesville, NC

Back Fins, Wake Forest, NC

And, since Don already took this thread out of state...

Patti's 1880's Settlement, Grand Rivers, KY. Home of the 2" pork chop. This entire small town is built around the two restaurants owned by the Tullar family.

Pufferbelly, Erie, PA.

Corky's BBQ, Memphis, TN

Interstate BBQ, Memphis, TN

Memphis Championship BBQ, Las Vegas, NV

Anthony's Prime Steak & Seafood, The M Resort, Las Vegas, NV. Absolutely the best (and most expensive) steak I've ever had.

O'Hara's in Mullins, SC It's a buffet but not like the buffet that you're used to. There's always a whole Prime Rib that they'll slice and put on your plate just as long as you'll let them. Huge peel and eat shrimp, a table of desserts like your grandma used to make. I've heard that they even have some vegetables on the bar but I can't confirm that.

Stadium Club in Surfside Beach, SC A beer and burger joint that is right on the main drag but you'll never notice it. Some of the best burgers and wings around. @kcult can confirm this one.

Provisions in Southport, NC Right on the water with some of the best shrimp and crabcakes you'll find anywhere.

The Depot at Cody Creek in Dobson, NC A nice destination restaurant, a beautiful place with great food.

The Hungry Farmer in Cana, VA Just a good ol' country cooking place with a buffet or order from the menu.

Shatley Springs in Crumpler, NC Family style and excellent food.

The Q Shack in Durham (2510 University Dr, Durham, NC 27707) has some of the best brisket and ribs I've had
Silver Hill Grill near Holden beach (2049 Holden Beach Rd SW, Supply, NC 28462) a trailer on the side of the road with amazing fried seafood
Allen & Son Barbeque between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough (6203 Millhouse Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516) If you can figure out when they're open they do real pit cooked barbeque over hickory

S&S Grill on Main st. in Thomasville, they only do breakfast and lunch but the Pimento Cheese and Chili burger are awesomne
BBQ Joes on Fairfield and Main St. in High Point, go on Firday for lunch and get the best porkchop you'll ever put in your mouth. The pulled pork ain't bad either.

Kuramas Japanese Steakhouse ad Sushi in Durham. Best bartender in Durham too.

Jd's smoke House, exit 103 in Burke county NC,not only some good smokey flavored barbacue, but the sides are excellent as well, it only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and if you go at peak times be prepared to wait in line.

JD's is awesome! With a plate you get two sides, so I always get the Brisket with 2 sides of Jalapeno Grits.....you won't be disappointed! Other sides are very good as well.

Great thread!

Hmmm.

I'll have to think on it a bit, as I don't go out to eat a lot.

Stephenson's BBQ on Hwy50 over near McGee's Crossroads (I think)
La Cocina in Clayton or Garner for my Mexican fix.

Miss Cindy's (China Inn) in Havelock - best damn Chinese I've had in a long time.
I get to eat there whenever the other forum (ncgo) have a Meet/Greet at Sure Shots (next one is 4/29)

I'll add more when I think of them...

If you're in west Burlington and you like Mexican food, check out the Loco Burrito at 3409 S Church. It's a hole in the wall, one bay of a strip center, but the food is better and the prices are lower than the other beaner restaurants around here.

Sears Landing on the way to Surf City NC, on the left right before the bridge, they have great food and pretty decent prices for a water front restaurant and their coconut crab soup is literally smack your mama good! They have dock and dine available for the area boaters. Nothing my family likes better after a day on the water than riding up to Sears Landing in the boat and finishing the day with a great meal.

Tex & Shirley's off of Wendover in High Point. Great pancakes and other breakfast stuff. Also great burgers.

I'm saddened to report that the Stadium Club in Surfside Beach has closed. We went there today to get some of their great wings and burgers and there was a sign in the door.

Jeff and Lisa's Brickhouse Grill on Colon Road in Sanford, NC. Awesome specials and deserts, and the best burgers around. Breakfast bowl's are fantastic.

Man, if we're doing countrywide, I'm going to have to give this some thought. I can never remember all the places I eat while traveling with work, but there are some great ones!!

Locally (I'm pretty simple, meat & potatoes kind of guy):
Dressler's Huntersville, NC
Texas Roadhouse Concord, NC
Smoke Huntersville, NC

Mackenzie's @ Berckman's Place (Masters) Augusta, GA (an ultra-exclusive slice of heaven!)
Scarpetta @ Cosmo Las Vegas, NV
Nuevo Laredo Cantina Atlanta, GA (must do lunch here)
Ocean Prime steakhouse Dallas, TX
III Forks Dallas, TX (been there 3 times!)
Mi Dia DFW area (great lunch/dinner place)
Bob's Steak & Chop House DFW (next to Mi Dia)
Tony Luke's on Oregon Ave Philly, PA (best cheesesteak around)
Gordon Ramsay Steak @ Paris LV, NV (They do a Wagyu beef buger, most expensive burger of my life!)
Can't remember any other great ones at the moment.

I just had dinner at The Blue Marlin in Columbia, SC a few nights ago when I was down there for work.

Beautifully grilled rare filet - absolutely beautiful. (Because only silly savages eat meat more done than that). Their mashed sweet potatoes and sautéed green beans were pretty phenomenal too.
