My local was closed and the interweb said the Creedmoor was closed. WTF? I couldnt even get in the parking lot of mine on Monday. Outta town until today and now the damn thing is closed. Sez they open tomorrow at 10am. I'm skeptical. If there was ever a reason for the state to get out of the liquor business, the way the stores are run by the county boards is it. No inventory. Limited hours and high prices. This is the only thing I agree with Gov. Copper on. DEREGULATE IT!

I feel your pain. I stopped by today and found the same. I should have paid more attention to the holiday schedule signs when I was last there.

Monopoly. Think about a state with liquor stores the size of walmarts and every stop and rob and grocery store sells liquor. The selection gets better and the prices get lower.

Our ABC store had a sign on the door about Boxing Day

I saw that on Google. Are you kidding me. England and Canada. What a bunch of shite. I know a mgr of one of my country's ABC store. I'm going to give him eternal hell for that. I no it's not his fault but it's still BS. I'm buying a case of liquor tomorrow and I'll be done for a while. Too damn aggravating to deal with Wake Cos BS.

Naturalized Tarheels, sometimes referred to as Rednecks, drink to get drunk and raise hell. Statistics prove closing the stores saves lives so it may be best to leave things the way they are or move to a more civil area of the country.

Absolutely privatize it. Get rid of the corrupt ABC system. How many county ABC commissioners are in prison for public corruption?
NC has among the highest craft distilleries per capita of the states. They should be able to easily get their product to any store. Or there could even be sites threat specialize in NC craft distilled beverages.
I don't drink. But I would love to be able to more easily access NC products when I buy for family.

I had no idea I agreed with Cooper on anything, shocking it is this. I love NC and loathe the ABC Board. What a bunch of .gov crap.

I always chuckle when I head up north and see the liquor bottles stacked at the gas station checkouts. They even have DRIVE THRU liquor stores in MI.

no way should the state be in the biz.

Catawba was open. Pretty sure Caldwell was too.

I was at my ABC at 5 mins to opening time today. My local happens to be the largest one in the county. The guy was rolling back the metal scissor gate as slow as he possibly could and shuffling around like he was on the clock or something. 6 of us standing in line to check out at the one available cashier. I know from my acquaintance who is a mgr at one of these that they keep them terminally understaffed. When you are a monopoly, you dont have to hire a lot of staff. Keep us pissed off and waiting. Where else are we going to go. Bastards!

This thread is a certain tellall as to who is a native and who isn't. Any native that runs out of booze knows a bootlegger in his neighborhood and does his business there. Folks, it's our way of helping out small busineses, remember, buy NC.
