It was either this, a gp100 or a k frame smith. If it's half the gun I think it'll be, I'll enjoy it.I saw this for sale. It reminded me of the first revolver I bought which was a 6 in Security Six back in 1983. That's an awesome pistol. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Oh my. That is just sexy.
Those things look heckin' sexy and if I ever see one without a lock I'm buying it.View attachment 175949 View attachment 175948 Since this thread has been dormant for a few weeks I’ll post a shot or two of my latest acquisition. Just picked her up today and I can’t wait to shoot it.
I read a bunch on the history of the security six. Basically the downfall it has, is it can't take continuously 357 loads, they would take a severe beating. That was resolved in the gp100 models.View attachment 185427 My very favorite revolver, a 6” GP100. It’s my spot and stalk hunting buddy, and has taken a buck at a measured 75 yards. Other than a trigger job, and fiber optic front sight, it’s factory stock.
How many people that own 357 magnums in any brand or model shoot 357 magnums continuously in their revolvers. Some people may but cost of magnum ammo would make most 357 mag owners choose to shoot 38 special ammo unless they reload.K frame S&W can't hold up under a steady diet of magnum ammo. 357 magnum was the first cartridge I started reloading for 25 years ago, and I load mostly full power with H110. I will occasionally make some lighter loads with Universal or CFE Pistol for the wife, but full power are all I shoot. How many people that own 357 magnums in any brand or model shoot 357 magnums continuously in their revolvers. That’s freakin’ beautiful!!1851 Colt 36 Repro
Rescued for a bit less than what's on the tag...
If it's chambered for .357 Magnum, that's what I feel like should be fired in it. If I want to shoot .38 Special, I have guns for that round.I shoot nothing but full tilt .357 in both my 6.5" Blackhawk or my 3" Taurus 66.
Got a big box of 180gr WFNs, a pile of new Starline brass & jugs of 2400 & 4227 waiting to be assembled.
Love the grips
I’d sure enjoy a peek inside your safe.I like a 3” k frame. Carbon steel or stainless.
That'n grows on ya, it sure does... it's a shame to holster it, 'cause then ya can't see the engraving! The little 36 was owned by a fellow who passed away recently. He had a gun store that closed years ago, before I got to visit. Word was that if you had a black powder question, he was the man to ask. Word also was that his shop was broken into many, many times. I have no 0.375" round ball, and none is available locally, so I must order it online afore I can choot this gem! Please, put me first in line for adopting that item...……….
