How much snow are the liars saying ?

He is one of the better mets in NC. Another guy I follow is weather rx, he is saying that local mets are under-forecasting based on poor models.

WRAL and WTVD are almost always 12-18 hours behind the curve, and on the conservative side.

The only thing WRAL is ever on the conservative side of.

I follow this guy pretty hard when it comes to weather. He’s shown to be the real deal More often than not with significant storms

Damn. That means there's already no bread or eggs at the store.

W-T-F do y'all do with all that milk, bread, and eggs?? Do you make a slurry and pack it into your tires for traction??

I went to a local HT at 11am. No one was there and the shelves were fully stocked. I predict a non event but I'm still staying home. A buddy wanted to drive to Louisburg tomorrow and eat fried chicken and BBQ for lunch and I said NO WAY. If we go we will never get home. If we stay home, nothing will happen. You are welcome.

I remember them calling for a dusting overnight when I was a kid. And waking up to go to school and there being 8” of snow outside

Yep, my prediction is zero to 8 inches. In this neck of the woods one slight shift of the temperature or ground moisture or prevailing winds will change snow count dramatically.

And Stokesdale is a weather anomaly all of its own. It will be different there by a few inches from the surrounding area. The Appalachian Wedge effect.

Pic from the Raleigh chaos...and not that many winters ago...this could be a repeat event...the timing is unclear, the impacts unknown...don't get burned :D

I prefer the photoshopped version.
And I was on the road about 25 minutes south of this in Wake County that day. *whew*
Well, actually, 8 hours south of it that particular day.

I dig that forecast. Really looking forward to calling out sick and watching my boy play in the snow all day.

Not looking great for a trip to Rocky Mount in the late afternoon tomorrow, is it? lol.

It ain’t too big around, but it sure is short!

Ol' tuna can.....

First call maps coming out. WRAL really pushing low amounts pretty much everywhere except the extreme Eastern part of the state. North Carolina weather authority, weather Rx, bunch of other places showing twice or three times the amount.

FWIW, AA is suggesting that I change my flight scheduled to land at 3:40 tomorrow, they want me to push to Fri.

As a meteorologist, I'm leaning more towards lower amounts overall.

No it's not. But take it from somebody who grew up 15 miles from RM, everything in Edgecombe County sucks, you're really better off not going.

I'll be driving to Clayton on Friday unless the snow is up to our ears.

He is right! I grew up in the same areas and the “backroads” don’t get cleared at all!

many schools getting out early tomorrow due to predictions

Looking forward to some snow shooting if it starts early enough will head to range. If flipping your thumb safety on AR isn’t already robotic, run and gun in the snow will fix that real quick :)

Im going to say some stuff and many of yall aint gonna like it.
I hope the schools are closed down Friday and I am snowed in (ie: 3 or 4 inches and Im not snowed in, I want 10+!).
Ive got a little home project I started Sunday and it'd make for a nice day to stay in.

IF we do get 3-5 like some are saying - I'll still be out of work, but will be more tempted to leave home. Especially taking the old dirtbike out and ride around a bit. Want to try riding in snow

You're right. I didn't like that at all.

That’s a helluva lot of moisture coming up from the Gulf and when I played the radar loop, it didn’t look like it wanted to go to the beach all that much.

I too am curious. It looks like all the talking heads just regurgitate the “official” govt. forecast that relies on the GFS model, which others say isn’t reliable for these types of systems. It really seems like there is an over reliance on models instead of the good old comparison, trends, pattern analysis like the old timers did it.

Bunch of moisture here already, just not humid enough to make it start yet
