Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase a banjo bolt around Raleigh. I’m slowly working on a bar swap on my motorcycle and had a major oops tonight. The new brake line was coiled up for shipping and I didn’t get the bolt started as well as I thought. I moved the line in the wrong direction and it coiled and sent my bolt flying to parts unknown. I’m 99% sure it’s a 1/2in bolt, fine thread roughly 1.5 inches long. I’m going to call the dealer as soon as they open but would like other options as well. It looks like the bolt pictured below.

Not sure its same size or thread pitch but sounds close a dodge cummins 99-02 uses them in top of fuel line on fuel filter housing. I have one and passing threw tommorrow if you might want to try it.

Just double checked one I have its a 17mm wrench size 10mm dia by 20mm long roughly so not sure it would work but welcome to it. Other than that someone like fleetpride or automotive fasteners or a fluid power shop might could match it up.

Thanks for the offer jp that’s much appreciated. I think it’ll be to large for what I need. The dealership opens at 9 hopefully they have it in stock and I can run grab it.

Production Tool in High Point has a good selection, but that's a good drive for you.
I think I have found an option with alliance hose. No dealers have them and 3-5 business days to order. The mention of production tool made me think of the hydraulic hoses we use at work so I called the vendor we use and they said they have several different ones to choose from.

When I needed one for a snowmobile I found the parts counters completely useless, literally 3 dealerships said they don't have them, could order by make/model.

Fortunately at the forth an older tech walked by and knew they had a bin full of them, took the lever in back and got me one, I had to shorten it, but that's easy.

Thanks for all the help fellas. Alliance had what I needed for a decent enough price to live with. The funny thing is the stock bolt turned up the night I bought two replacements. My buddy came over the help button it up that night. We got all the hoses ran and installed and I sat the bike up and we heard something drop. He got to looking around and the bolt had fell in a nook somewhere around the transmission and just happened to fall out. Luckily we found it then and it didn’t end up in my belt or tire.

On a side note if anyone on the forum decides to tackle a project like this on their own alliance can make hydraulic clutch and brake lines. I ordered a kit from amazon and the extended brake line was a no go, but the clutch line would have worked fine. I rerouted the stock brake line and had alliance make a clutch line the needed length over stock. It was about $30 cheaper than anything I could find online and I had it in hand within about 5 minutes.

Harley dealer...
Painful but usually in stock.
