and I didn't even know it!
Not really sure it concerns me that much, but wanted to ask if anyone has had this happen and something adverse happened.
I guess a little back story is in order...

Mrs and I bought our house/property late in 2009. In the first year, our mailbox got pounded a few times so since a PO box doesn't cost that much and my mail is more or less secure, we haven't had an actual mailbox.

So, fast forward to yesterday- sorting through some mail on my desk I read the county tax notice a bit more closely- our address has changed from 608 SomeCountyRd, Lumber Bridge to 609 SomeCountyRd, Lumber Bridge. In the back of my mind I had always known we were on the "odd" side of the road, but no one seemed to care- nor did I.
Anyone else had that this kind of situation and it has caused them some issue?
Other than having to buy a new house marker for the road?

I rented a townhouse where this happened as part of address standardization for some 911 response maps. Nothing much happened, but yes the landlord had us line-thru, and sign the update to the address on the lease. I imagine he had to update the deed, tax records, etc.

I also did a change of address card with the post office.

A short time back, when we moved in Edgecombe Co., They could not tell us what our address was. They finally came up with an address and found that it could not be found on map sites. It eventually settled out but we had fun with mail and such for a few weeks.

EMS/911 changed our street address during the previous century.
our new address is so long, the IRS couldn't get it on our refund check.
of course, now it's direct deposit. total characters and spaces: 32

almost sounds like Hickory.

"14th Street Way Northeast"
"17th Avenue Court Northwest"

That town is a GPS nightmare.

They did the same type thing to me here in Randolph county.

I did not even know it until the Sheriffs office called me when working on my Concealed Handgun Permit.

Not exactly when I wanted the appearance of impropriety!

I live on the corner of a "main" road (which is 5 minutes off of the slightly bigger "main" road, which is 10 minutes off of a highway) and a tiny dirt road. Apparently my house is on both the "main" road and the dirt road, because we get mail for both.
rural living is weird. back up in the city we were lucky to get mail that was actually addressed to our correct house number...

I'll need to check mine in the morning...

Both my cars were changed to Wilkes county for the tax vs. Surry.....no clue why. Had to call and get that straight.

Update-
Email to the mortgage co, they responded that I just need to send them a notice from the county or PO stating my address was changed. They'll get a copy of the tax bill and like it...

Insurance guy for home & cars said no problem, he's taking care of it.

DL and anything else will wait until the next renewal, I'm not paying a single dime extra to get them updated.

And I took care of the house marker today-
