Next thing to sell out from CoronaVirus Panic...

From reading firsthand accounts out of Italy, after the initial panic the shelves stayed pretty well stocked.

That's what I'm banking on.
Oh, I've got plenty for myself and family and we'll be frugal.
But people ain't going to eat all that easly and it's not like the infrastructure is down. Trucks will roll, Mfgr will be making stuff, electricity is on. The shelves will get stocked after the initial hoarding is over.

I have a teeny piece of land, but I've started to look at some deer that bounce around in my woods....as potential dinner! LoL. I'd have to nail them with a handgun, though.....not sure how that would go.

Right now the fridge and freezer are stocked, and I have a lot of canned stuff. So the deer are safe....for now! lol.

If you resort to shooting one, try to find a pregnant doe. They already have one in the oven.

We hit the Harry teeter on 501 coming back from Hillsborough yesterday. We were shocked, no bread, no can goods, etc... We got our normal weekly stuff though. Spaghettios were on sale so we got some extra ;)
Same way at the Food Lion in Siler City yesterday: meet, bread, canned goods, frozen vegetables, pizza, eggs, and more all gone or nearly so.

I stopped at the ABC store in Pittsboro today and the parking lot was full at 3pm. The guy behind the counter said it had been that busy for the last week, but the shelves were full :D
Stopped there next. Idiots bought up the cheap lime vodka that I like to drink over ice thinking it's hand sanitizer or something. That's Of I found other things.

Just bought diesel for $2.11 in Zebulon... Ain't mad at that...
I had 1100 gallons delivered @ $2.09 today.
My supplier talked me out of filling my tank because "diesel will be $0.10 cheaper next week"
I'm on the schedule for another 2000 gal next week.
Loving that!!!

Went to FL last night and for the first time ever I thought this is as close to I’ve seen to a real SHTF situation. Meat, milk, toiletry items gone. Canned foods hit hard no rice very little flour no bread.

I was there more out of curiosity then needing anything. I still dropped another 80bucks though

you ought to see the commissaries on Bragg...both of them are a mess; even during the hurricanes they were never gutted like they are now...even the dog food was gone at north post when I was in there yesterday...I did score a box of little Debbie swiss cake rolls

Was reminded yesterday that if the grocery stores around you are out of paper products, Lowes and Home Depot carry paper towels and stuff. So there is always that.
We were cleaned out of all paper products and bottled water, Got 10 pallets in Sunday night, limit two packages per customer. No N95 masks.

Went to Walmart Saturday to get som coffee cream for the old lady, while I was there I grabbed some puppy chow/dog food 50lb bags/
Saw a cas of water looks like some set it down so I grabbed it, went around the corner and got 3 cases of beer.

not a single thing of water/tp/Kleenex/paper towels/and the ramen was sold out too

Take a good look at your 25yard pistol targets, then rethink handgun hunting with the equipment you have.

I’m not being mean, just saying that you can probably learn to trap faster than you can learn to shoot.

Mentioned above, trucks are still rolling, Things ARE getting restocked (saw it first hand with, for example, eggs - Saturday out, Monday had the whole area filled up), but people are still panicking.
It'll settle down and things will get back to normal.
Hope you all have at least a week though

Squirrels ... my kid got bored today and took it out on the tree rats running around. I’ve told him he needed to slow down that might be our meat supply in a couple weeks :D ...

I was thinking about a week also. Any longer and, as said before, it will get sporty.

Wow, where did you dig those up to look at?
I haven't shot that far in ages, so I guess you're correct! LOL.

Silver dropped below $13/oz and I thought it would be a good opportunity to stack some more, but it is (you guessed it) Out Of Stock, at least in its cheaper forms. You can find some coins for $18 and up, but nothing within shouting distance of the spot price.

I called my contact and nobody is selling silver anywhere near spot (it was $12.80 when I called) best I could do was 1 ounce generic rounds for $15.20. I never buy for more than 5-7% margin over spot and I told him almost 19% over spot for generic stuff was a definite no ... $13.50 give or take was my limit. Panic buyers didn’t mind it though, they sold out within buy lunch at over $15 plus.

I ran across a metal dealer on line today that was selling silver eagle monster boxes for $6827 and they had already sold out. I would have bought another one at that price, $13.65 ea. Next best price was about $7900.

Toilet paper (why???)
Bottled water
Meat/groceries
Ammo (.223, 9mm, .22)

Next up... gas cans.

Most stores from Concord Mills to Mooresville are sold out of 5 gal gas cans. Not entirely sure why since gas is cheap and plentiful, and demand for gas is poised to actually decline given school closures, “work from home” plans, and the inevitable business closures.

The new Northern Tool in Kannapolis had plenty of gas cans on Sunday. If you need paper towels, Harbor Freight, Northern and Tractor Supply have the blue shop paper towels, just don't try to flush them.

These are nice and soft, plus washable. I pick up 3 more packs every time I'm down that way. Good through the end of the month.

$7900 for a AE monster box ($15.80 per AE) is actually a decent price since AE’s do have premium value beside bullion. That would have been a tempting offer but still hard for me as a bullion based investment since I don’t sell coins.

Something is wrong with the PM market, everyone is out of stock but the prices are falling.

Monster boxes are too heavy!

Spot price (paper silver/gold) is falling but not physical price (counting the premium to actually buy it).

Yes. Something is very very wrong. Unless you think that the powers that be manipulate the price of paper gold/silver pretty much all the time. They have pushed it way down for some reason but the physical market does not believe it. If the paper (commodity contract) price stays this low for quite a while we will see the physical market drift down, but only after a bunch of investors, dealers, and mints actually take delivery of physical metal when the contracts are up. We will see whether there is enough physical metal out there to meet physical demand. I suspect not even close, and prices will head back up.

A couple of days ago silver was 12.90 and the premiums were around $8 from a couple of dealers I checked. >60% premiums? Seriously?

The blue shop towels work well for making your own cleaning wipes.
