Last call in NC is 5pm today

The first place that figures out drive though ribeye steak dinners will make a killing.
There used to be this place in Winston called steak out, and they would actually deliver. Steaks and baked potatoes oh my God it was so good.

Gov. Steve Sisolak has ordered the statewide shutdown of all casinos and other nonessential businesses in Nevada starting noon Wednesday.
The state’s latest coronavirus containment effort will apply to all bars, gyms, beauty salons, barber shops, malls and restaurants that do not provide takeout and delivery services.

Wife's family runs a distribution/warehouse business and this is going to hurt. If they don't get rent forgiveness, they might not survive the month.
She was supposed to go to jersey tomorrow and pick up a new big client, but that trip was cancelled.
My cousin works for a large computer company in NV and they're figuring out how deal with 2000 employees

Why just close restaurants and bars? Why not all businesses?

Yeah. Seriously shutdown every business in America. Damn most have more than 50 right? Hell shut down the hospitals because we know they have had cases of COVID19. Lets get this rolling and call this bitch done.

Who is going to enforce it? The business owner. They will not go after the guy wanting to sit in restaurant, they will go after the restaurant that let him. Kind of like a health code violation, they will close them down and fine them
What kind of Sri Lankan BS is that? This is supposed to be America

Or just let everyone get “sick” and build population level immunity . If we spent a 1/4 of the cost this will have on our economy, we could have opened up a brand new pneumonia center in every state

What a crazy idea to build a hospital in every state for this virus. It’s better to keep everyone in a house till July and hope it’s gone while trillions in the economy and taxes disappear. Man oh man, make sense doesn’t make sense.

OH yeah, I remember that, got it shipped to the mall a few times.

And, thing is, we have so many delivery services now and take out available at Outback etc, getting a steak to go isnt a wild idea...it's existed for at least a decade at chain places.

Very true!

And now with GrubHub waving all their fees for delivery, you can get pretty much any kind of food you want delivered right to your door now. And it won’t cost you more than if you actually went into the restaurant.

Pizza delivery will set all time records. Better tip or the next delivery will get an extra product.

Food delivery drivers I tip extremely well. I want them to remember my house Fondly so to keep that from happening LOL

There are one, hence the use of Executive Orders.

It is the tool of the tyrant and state Governors are seeing just how much power they really can have.

Courts are closed so folks can get injunctions or stays against these EO's.

I asked my favorite burger, bbq /bar place last night what would happen if they said screw you to Cooper and ran as usual. First thing out of their mouths were the liquor license then the city business permits.
I say f that, stand up against this bs

I told a manager he should call all the other establishments and move the tables outside and serve a full menu. Even get pop ups. He said it was almost impossible to get workers and if they were in business when this was over they would need two months to plan and rehire including managers. I was once in the food industry and that is what it was like to open a new location. It took many long weeks to open.

There is going to be a lot of commercial real estate on the market soon.

Mine haven't and I'm signing 3 more up this week. We've also got a couple spec houses going up so when this clears, with the low mortgage rates, we should be sitting nice.
There’s opportunity in volatility. There’s been quite a few roll off companies pop up over night in this area. If they can’t sustain it’ll be cheap equipment for me.

Post up some knuckledraggers at the door and refuse certain city officials entry. Shouldn't be hard to get a list of names in most small town administrations. Jeezus where is the country that I once lived in. Speakeasys and bootleggers, ARISE!

Those BS permits and licenses aren't going to help you when you're out of business, dummies

I just stopped at the hwy 55 in Richlands for lunch on the way back to the office. They set up three tables outside to eat, all tables inside are stacked. Hopefully this crazy passes soon.

So all that are saying the restaurants should just say "Fu(k you" to the ,gov shut down, let's see where you are when they do it to your job or company. If yall don't start tossing lead the second they say it, then yall just full of hot air.

When a State of Emergency is declared certain powers are given to certain branches (local, state and federal) ... now as to who gets what and to what level I am not sure.

Its like 32 pages long, google NC State Public Health and Emergency Powers Law. Best I can tell Lt. Dan was right. The governor needed Lt. Dan's approval and the approval of the "Councils of State". As far as I know he (the governor) had neither.

I'm headed home (SC) from work tomorrow afternoon (VA), having set up a 4 day weekend.

My wife asked me what I'm going to do if they close the interstates while I'm home.

"People got around all over the country before the Eisenhower Interstate System came into existence. Plenty of state roads and highways."

I'll probably put a 5 gallon gas can in the trunk, though.

I didn't see it and can't find a link to it but was told a reporter asked who would enforce the shut downs and the answer was "local authorities" and that they should get approval from their legal advisors.

So "do this" but you're on your own.

Today I stopped by Randy's on 64 to pick up lunch - their chicken pie was very good!

After work I hit up Fancy Pastry in Lexington for some doughnut holes
Then to Perfect Blend (owner is a big gun guy) for a large coffee

Go, spend some money at these local spots and keep the lights on a little longer in these trying times.

Eateries operate on a 4-8% profit. A 10% drop in sales will set them back a lot. We are looking at 90%-100% drops on other than fast food places. I thought at 2:00pm Chik-fil-A drive thru would be be packed since they can’t eat inside. There was two people outside taking orders and one giving a credit card receipt. I was the only person in either lane. People are skipping eating out to lessen the contact with contaminated food as well.

dang shame.

Keep fighting the good fight, live as normal as you can.
Limit contact, sure, but try to help these local businesses

Ding ... Ding ... Ding ... that’s what I’m doing. No Take Out, Drive Thru or Delivery because to many people I don’t know are around the food.

Also, be careful of reusable grocery bags that could be contaminated from various sources in the store from the basket to checkout counter.

and eat restaurant food while supplies and government permission allows instead of burning through stockpiles at home. The only way this does not turn into absolute madness, is if people remain fed and have access to water/drink. I have enough supplies for about 3-4 weeks. After that, start going to the doomsday supplies (hunting out of season, water filtration methods --hopefully maniple water still good though). After that, well...have's and have nots. I have an immune system, governments chose to take away products/wealth/and proper means.

not me. ill eat bat friggen soup right now with a extra splash of coronavirus just in case the bat didn't have it. My concern is what YOU will do when you run out of food because you didn't go to chic-fil-a. This is the most pathetic pandemic to ever have existed in human history. Our response, is as though it were weaponized ebola. If this takes down the world it was our own doing. A future alien civilization will uncover our records and laugh their ass off. probably make comedy movies about it.

Bro, the stores are still getting things in.
Man, youre really freaking out a lot lately lol

But, seriously, yall try to live as normal as possible, this WILL pass. It'll take some time, but it'll be ok.
Go try to support your local businesses in the tough times as you can

Lol. Its a mix of frustration and unknowns. If it would help scientist make a vaccine, I will volunteer to inject myself with covid19 so they can extract my antibodies. My patience for the self inflicted economic ruin is just no longer existent. This is so dumbbbb.

actually you can get paid for it
5k to get injected and observed as they test on you

lol even better. I'm only seeing trial vaccines though? These are 'attenuated viruses' which is a method for producing acquired immune response. You have likely had some of these in your lifetime (I forget exactly which ones use this type--small pox maybe?).
