I've got an old one but it's full. What do I need to do to use the propane out of it before I get rid of it?

I thought about staking it down and shooting it with an open flame nearby but I'd rather hook it up to the grill and get some use out of it until it's empty.

This is the valve. Anybody got an old regulator or adapter? Or point me in the right direction?

Whatever you do to it, you might want to try to save that valve. It’s not the new OPD valves that get blocked up easily. Just saying might be good to have that in the store room.

Old, I've never seen one like it. If there is any rust in it, I don't know if you can make a good seal.
I like the fire, distance and rifle option. Video would post real nice.

It's brass. No rust.

Tape a road flare to it upside down, shoot the bottom. It’ll be a blast

Hook that Mother to the grill, get numerous pounds of red, raw beef and have a 72 hour cook off against yourself. Screw everyone else, cook what YOU like, sit back with several cold ones (or carefully mixed cool ones) listen to that beef sizzle, flip the bird to the neighbors, and if the cops show up start coughing and they'll go away so you can enjoy the proceeds of your labor...... Make the best of a bad situation!!! That's MY take anyway....

When mine are too old to get refilled I take them to the self service exchange at Home Depot. Or other places like Walgreen's where the worker doesn't know (or care) to check the date.

But with a full one? Shoot it would be an awesome option. And be sure to post the video :D

What size is that.

I have a weed burner that has the type of end to use that valve

That looks like the hook up that our outside grill on the camper use to hook to feed line. Kind like a air chuck

What he said!
It looks like someone did make an air tank out of it.

Damn, thought I was old. Any date on it?

Never seen one with a valve like that....someone convert it to accept an air hose or something?

To me, it looks like someone rigged up a homemade air tank with a "m style" air line coupler. Have you weighed the tank?

It appears to be full of a liquid. I'd assume it's LPG. The valve is all one cast piece so I don't think it's been modified. I'd like to use the LPG rather than just give it away when I trade it in.

20lb tank.

If someone wants to donate *their* property I'll let *them* shoot it. Seen one or two videos of it, I recommend chaining it to a rod pounded deep into the ground. The bullet just punctures the tank, which turns it into a flaming projectile - that sets everything it bounces off of on fire.

Thank you for that new and awesome word-of-the-day.

Why would the cops come for him grilling?
Why flipping the neighbors off?
Wait, did you draw down on the neighbors dog again?

It is a Weber grill quick disconnect. I had it one on my Weber grill and when i would go to fill the tank, they would never have the adapter to fill it. I have an adapter which came with the grill but would never remember to take it with me. So I changed the male fitting on the grill to fit the standard tanks.

Brian K, if I can find the quick disconnect fitting that came off the grill, I'll let you know and you can have it. Just change it out on your grill, use the tank of propane then take the tank to a cylinder exchange and get the regular style tank.

I have a spare Weber grill that came with a full tank like that. When its empty, I'll change it over to the new style valve and off the tank in a, uh, exchange .

A lit road flare taped to the side as far up as possible ... an AR loaded a round of M855 ammo ... and about a 300 yard radius of clear area ... plus someone to hold your beer.

If you don't have the proper fitting on your gas grill for this, visit Ace Hardware and find one. Swap it out on your grill until the tank is empty.

Then swap your empty tank for a new Blue Rhino at the store.

Problem solved.

Brian K, I found the quick change male fitting, but did not find the tank filling adapter. If you would like to have this, let me know.
