I got 8+ loading on Federal GMM 308 brass before the primer pockets got too big to hold a primer anymore. The hotter you load it, the faster it wears out.

I’ve used a bunch of Federal 6.8 SPC brass, and it is a bit soft. Still, I normally get 6-8 loads before the primer pockets get too large. My loads are on the hotter side.
I went through one box of FGMM in my .338 LM. After one firing the primer pockets were looser than Lapua brass after seven firings. I should say I am not loading hot, it's a rather mild load but the OCW test did run right up near maximum.
I haven't reloaded them so I have no idea if/when the necks will split. For all I know the brass composition and hardness is the same and it's just a more generous dimension of the pockets.
I loaded up some new Lapua 308 brass a few years ago with a stout load of Varget and some 175SMK's. I was popping primers and had some hard bolt lifts. I loaded the same load in FGMM with no problems. I have a couple of older shooting buddies who were mentoring me on loading and LR shooting. Neither of them could figure this out to our satisfaction. Could have been a lot of things. Ive got a hundred pieces of Lapua 308 in rotation now. All my 30 BR and 6BR is Lapua. Have been having some problems with current production FGMM 308 brass in match chambers. Some rounds wont chamber. Resorted to full length resizing on new brass, chamfer and deburr. The new brass has a pronounced edge at the outside of the neck/mouth that must be deburred. FGMM brass didnt used to be that way.
