Lock down is slowly driving me crazy. Already disassembled and clean my firearms. Want to go shooting but the boss says no closed ranges. I’m looking to see if there are any South Charlotte, North SC outdoor ranges that don’t want a membership commitment. I’ve done the google thing and the Carolina Range came up in SC but membership is required. Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

Depending on when youre trying to shoot, I, or others, could meet you at outdoor ranges that require membership and have you as our guest.
I go to PHA in south Lexington NC, I dont know how far that is for you though

Just got an e-mail from DPRC that the range is closed to all visitors for the time being.
Members can bring in a spouse or child who lives in the same house with them.

Pappy's. South of Rock Hill in Edgemoor.
Address: 4955 Tinkers Creek Rd, Edgemoor, SC 29712
Hours: Open ⋅ Closes 6PM
Phone: (803) 789-3028

You know this is only the first week, right? :D

This made no sense to me. If I go out during the week it is a ghost town.

Here.....every day!!!!!!
Man, I don’t know you but I love you for the hospitality you’ve shown here always (and that goes for majority of the regular contributors ). But being honest, there’s no way I would step foot on your property during this time and risk infecting you and your family or anyone else here.

It's just a part of training. :D

Game lands in N.C. run some ranges and they are free. I went to one in caswell county. Okay for what it is. Check map of state run ranges to locate one nearest you

I'm suing Walmart. I caught a cold there last year.

I tripped last year at Walmart while I was entering the store and went down very hard. They were all over me wanting to call an ambulance and all. Told them just give me a hand up and I will be fine. Got up and going and as I was going down a aisle the store manager came up to me. At first I thought just to make sure I was ok. But I could tell right away that he was making sure I was not going to sue them. I told him that if I was going to sue I would not still be in the store. He then tried to wiggle out of his prior statements. What an ass.

Interestingly enough if you have such plans (mine would be more on the NR of CBRN) you definitely do want to train at least once or twice with a mask on.

it was not obvious to me before actually wearing mask and shouldering weapons, that you would not be able to aim down sights for most of them (at least not with the guns and masks Combos I tried).

we trained with masks A LOT, it's really hard to shoot with it on, it's pretty much spray and pray

I’m pretty sure they are shut down all the campsites on NP land in my area are closed for a couple weeks or so.

I took a 2-3 mile walk in the neighborhood today. I got to visit with more neighbors in one hour than I have seen in the past 4 months.

It’s like everyone’s cabin fever peaked at exactly 2PM

I have an acre field with a berm on my land in south central Chatham County NC, and a nice stable concrete table to shoot off of. It's about 70 yards to the berm from the table but I typically stand up a pallet at 50 yards. I plan on shooting this weekend if anyone would care to join me. Rifles, pistols, whatever. It's looking like a nice weekend coming up. There's not much there other than that table and a shed but there is electricity. Poor cell phone coverage, Verizon sometimes works, AT&T almost never. Haven't decided on which day yet but I'm flexible, at least in that regard. ;)

Yes, that's why you should train with gear you carry. You don't know what you don't know until you use it. But, this could be an application for a laser... (not the Surefire, the Steiner) :D

So i've decided to go in a different direction. Build n AR-15 from the ground up. Wish me luck.
Just did this on Tuesday. I thought it would take longer. Now I'm buying more stuff for it because I'm a little bored.

I would love to have a little boredom. Work continues as intensely as it ever has, just don't get the variety of going in to the main building in Morrisville.

Isolation w/o down time is not a good mix.

I've got a part coming Fedex from Schuyler Arms that has now been sitting in Tuscon for 2 days, some sort of Shipment Exception.
I heard from a friend in Illinois that their gun parts are being held up in shipping as well. He thinks it's an anti-gun conspiracy on the part of UPS. My stuff from Brownell's came through just fine, but I paid a little extra for fast shipping.
