CZ pics

I am so proud of you
I've wanted one since I saw this thread eons ago! It shoots great! I just have to get better at doing what I need to do.

(Patience really is a virtue, isn't it?)

Not mine... :(

What grips are they?

They started out as Lok thin bogeys. After doing a 6 mile ruck, I couldn't figure out where the red on one of the grips had come from, until I realized
they had cheese grated my skin. I sanded the spikes down to a more friendly skin on grip contact, and hit them with a little black paint to jazz the dimples up.
I've got Lok palm swell bogeys on my SP-01, but also don't carry it IWB and ruck.

I've got Lok checkered palm swells inbound now.

Seriously, those “golf ball” grips are abrasive!

Here is my “pretty steel CZs” collection. I have competed with the SP-01 and it is excellent

How's the texture on the P01 grips for carry? They are Cool Hand, correct?

Ill admit they can be a bit aggressive, but I carry with an undershirt, or something between the gun and me. So its fine. Admittedly, my main EDC is a P-07, so my experience carrying them day in and day out is limited. But for range use they are excellent, and in my opinion, attractive.

It took all night & several occasions of breathing into a bag to prevent passing out, but I finally got through all 20 pages of this thread.

I’ve come to the conclusion I need to add a CZ handgun to the collection. The only CZ I own is a 452 American which I absolutely love.

My focus of obsession will be a P01.

I have learned by sight looking at this forum the differences between a CZ75 compact, PCR, P01, & a P01 omega.

Questions:
1. Besides the ability to convert the trigger, I understand the omega trigger system may be heavier than the regular P01, correct? What else is there to know about these 2 variants?

2. What Cajun works spring do most of you put in the P01 to improve the trigger, 13#?

3. Grip preference—VZ or Lok? Do CZ75 vz grips fit the p01?

4. The sites seem to be a point of criticism. Recommendations for replacements on the P01?

As you can tell, I like to do my research & I’m a planner by nature. Thanks for your input.

I've owned both a standard and Omega P01. The triggers aren't necessarily heavier on the Omega and they do vary out of the box. The Omega is much easier to work on but both are doable if you have some mechanical aptitude. I prefer the flatter trigger of the Omega as well. I got a good one out of the box and mine was bought used too so the trigger was nicely broken in. I still added this CGW kit, which includes the #13 spring, reduced power firing pin spring & reduced power firing pin block spring. They recommend you replace all three of the springs in the kit for reliability. The improvement was very noticeable. I also replaced the firing pin retainer pin, another weak point.
Grips are personal preference much like holsters. You'll likely have to try a couple out. Guuun Grips and Cool Hand are on eBay and allow for 30-60 day returns.
Tru Glo TFX Pros were on my short list but, I installed a Dawson FO front and blacked out the rear with sharpie and I'm liking it quite a bit so I might just stick with this setup and save the $100+.

Thats funny lol

1. Ive never messed with the Omega.
Imho, I dont want to be changing the manual of arms on a pistol I carry and have to retrain myself.
Ymmv

2. Terry has it right....SPGK1 from Cajun Gun Works is the one. Definitely replace all three springs at once.

3. Imho, grip maker is less important than grip texture.
I have VZ, LOK, Cool Hand, CZ branded, custom made grips...you name it and they all fit just fine.
The difference is texture. Some are cut such thst carrying without a tshirt between the grip and the ol love handles will result in severe chafing. I have one set that tears my hands up and I have to use gloves if I have an extended range session.
I cant carry VZ Diamondbscks, LOK Bogies, or my aluminum swirl CZ Custom grips next to my skin. They are cheese graters lol.
CZ Cocobolo grips, most Cool Hand, LOK Grenade, CZ Custom or CGW flat aluminums, and the carbon fiber grips are fine for me to carry.
My favorite are the Grenade pattern by LOK.

No, CZ75 grips do not fit the P01.
CZ75 Compact grips do.

4. Replacements?
You talking custom parts or grips?
If grips, I rolled all my thoughts up in number 3.
If its parts, I recommend nothing but the spring kit and upgrade sights at first.
After youve been with the platform a while, then you can start dropping parts in as you figure out what you do and dont like.

Best of luck whatever you decide....

What's wrong with a Rami?
(And I agree: sexy stuff in this thread! Whooooo!)

I’m not falling for your Jedi mind trick. :p

Looks like I fell for the Jedi mind trick...Picked up my very first CZ today! It’s a Rami with the Cajun Gun Works Pro Package installed by my local gun shop. The trigger feels incredible. Hoping for some nice weather this weekend so I can put some rounds down range.

In my wee opinion, there is nothing wrong with the Rami, it just falls a bit short when pickin CZs for me. The P01 and the PCR are quite compact, the P-07 is a great “Glock Killer” polymer offering, and the Rami is just kinda “extra”.

And since I’m a believer in “you can’t have just one” I went ahead and got the 2nd one out of the way! CZ 75 B just because.

You did basically what I did during my first venture into CZ handguns. I bought the 75B then right after a Rami. If you follow my trend then your next is a Dan Wesson.

Hey, be nice! LOL. It's awesome!

Not dissing the Rami either, but sometimes a gun just speaks to you whereas others don’t. The P-01 is the CZ that does that for me.

I did chuckle when I saw your Rami for sale & then your post in here, hence the “I see what you did there/Jedi mind trick post.”

Huh?? My Rami is not for sale......lol.

Oh man my bad. I’m really showing my CZ naïveté here. I thought it was you but another guy has his PCR for sale in classifieds.

I messed up both the member & the firearm.

Now I know how Joe Biden feels all the time.
