Did You Go Shooting Today

I did!
I was there for 2 whole hours (!), and shot (mostly) slowly.

Getting more familiar with the CZ. I love it!
For a small gun it shoots very well for me, recoil-wise, since it's so heavy. The grip is nice and big.
After a session of about ~200 rounds, I was very happy.

Shot this a.m. Checked my zero on my 6BR Hvy and shot some reprocessed 45acp thru my Springer XDS. Wouldnt shoot some reloads I had the other day. Went home and ran them thru taper crimp die with another full turn down added. No problems today. Same screwy reloads ran fine in my S&W Shield 45. Sig P250 balked on 1 rnd. Really like those Shields. I knew I shoulda bought a 9mm Shield when they were $250.

Yes.

• Shot 46 rounds of S&K rifle match through my CZ455 & AAC Element 2 combo; four warmup shots and two attempts at the monthly rimfire challenge
• Shot 26 rounds of Blazer Brass .40 through the LE trade-in G23 I recently acquired; two shots at a time, drawing from concealed, with a mag change in the 13th/14th round pair

Despite the county travel restrictions, I made an essential trip to my gunsmith today to pick up my 1911 as it was necessary for the safety and security of my family.

I had some sight work done on my pistol, so of course I had to test fire it. Only about 25 rounds, but we had to make sure it held the black at 25yds.

We also managed to get a few rounds off with my gunsmith's suppressed Savage Mk II as well. I don't know the make/model suppressor he had installed but he did mention it was a 30 cal model with 223 baffles installed. Very hush-hush.

Lastly we fired a dozen "rounds" out of the AR15 golf ball launcher to cap off the afternoon. Not terribly accurate, but man it can launch a golfball 150+ yards

Took a "new" 11.5" pistol upper out yesterday, put 120ish thru it, grouped ok.
Don't like it, really thought it would be my new darling, 14.5" and 18" are way more shootable, course they are rifles.
May try playing with buffers, but its looking like a safe queen or parted out.

"new" because the A2 receiver could be nearly my age.

Had to replace my steel target frame's crossbar yesterday. NDN's yahoo son and friends shot it up - no mean feat given that they were shooting scoped rifles at 50 yds and missing the plates by two feet to punch holes in a piece of 1" conduit. smh

Today - if I get through with the yard work with any goomph left, I've got three small tasks to perform to check out some gear, but I'm trying to be responsible with ammo, so I probably won't shoot more rounds than are necessary.

These are testing times, my CFF fam. :(

FWIW...that doesn’t make much sense.

Could it have been a 30 cal silencer with a 223 end cap? Just curious of the details whenever you talk to them again.

Fired some rounds with zero human interaction besides a grunt at the other fellow at the sign-in shed. Found two unfired .357Sig Gold Dots when picking up brass, what the heck?

Sadly, no. I'm taking the stay-in-place seriously. I may break out those primer-fueled wax bullets I bought a long time ago and pop them in my back yard.
If you want to take a little drive, I've been blasting away on a huge piece of land owned by my Raleigh cousin....we can do the physical distance thing easily there! lol.

Yeap

Went yesterday for awhile and shot at steel and asprin with my Savage MkII .22 at 100 yds. Had to stop a bit early when two guys on horses decided to take a trail ride directly behind my target rack. Oh well, that's life in the fast lane.

There are plenty of deer on our property.

Yesterday, they decided to remain behind the top of the berm while I shot a couple pistols. I aimed directly for them...

to make sure I didn’t hit any. o_O

Wanted to try out the BA 8" barrel in the AR-15 with and without a can. Also, just got a can for the AR-9 and gave that a run. Did not film the AR-15 but did the AR-9. Shooting 124 gr. Missouri RN bullets around 1050 ft/sec. In total 75 round through each gun. And for social distancing, I did not have anybody on 2 ranges to my left and 3 to my right.

Gorgeous afternoon/evening at the range with my new Shield 2.0 9mm. So far I LOVE this pistol and am now wondering what took me so long to get one. Things happen when they're supposed to I guess.

Why yes....yes, I did!

Just home from the clearing near the house. Shot the CZ, and both 1911s (9mm and .45)
The rain came as I was locking up the gate to leave....I had fun, as I always do when holding a gun and making some noise.

Next time out...revolver day? Sig day? Quien sabe?

Soon I'll have some actual targets to photograph and post, right now I got dirt.

I’ve been usin’ dirt for years. The snakes and gophers must hate me. :(

Took a new friend out to the clearing to shoot....kept distance.
Shot the 1911s and the CZ. A nice day to be out, but by noon it got a little hot for me....
I think the actual range will be visited soon, if they don't have many people in there.

I took my daughter out yesterday. We shot scoped .22 rifles. Had a ball and she even beat me at a tack driving game from 25 yards out. I made it a little harder for myself but she still won and did great. Glad to be able to get her out of the house for a while.

I designed some reactive targets "like Shoot N-C" and got to test them today 9mm and 5.56mm. Drove to Woody's and 35 min's later my test was done.

The amount of detail and technical ability to manufacture self adhesive reactive targets is not easy. Well, not for me. BUT I got it done.

good looks but an hour+ is a little long for a short optic sight in session
True, you don't go for just one firearm, you load up the vehicle. I'm near RDU, can walk to Triangle Shooting Academy but they are closed.:(
