Post Your Furry Friends...

This Lab is my old buddy (Gunny) that I lost to Cancer a few years ago. Damn he was a goodin!

The Brindle Dane's name is Bentley. My daughter brought him home when we lived in KY. He developed Parvo a few weeks later and we lost sleep for 3 months keeping that boy alive. A really good old horse vet gave us guidance and medications. He had an IV in his leg for at least a month and a half. We saved him, and he is a big, dumb, good lookin boy for sure.

As you see, they were buds! I fell asleep on the floor and they joined me.

Dogs are so much better than people!

I just got a Bentley. A couple were having a baby and didn't want a 10 Year old Collie. The dog was kept locked in the basement all the time and the owners were upset because the dog barked all the time and was having accidents in the house.

Sheesh!
Anyway I took him in on friday last week and he already has become my yard work buddy.

@J R Green, I got Gunny the same way. A nephew of ours had 2 young boys under 3 years. His wife got all wound up because they kept getting knocked down by the big mean dog. I drove to Janesville, WI and brought the big mean dog home with me. He was one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs I have ever known. I miss him a great deal.

He was really sick at this point. Had a tumor the size of a loaf of bread in his belly.

My littlest dude sacked out! He spent the morning outside in the yard with me while I was working. I watched him tracking a sent when we first went out. Right along the Fence and under the shed, and out the underside chasing a cat. He had a grand day. I love listening to beagles on scent track, they make some of the craziest awesome sounds.

Our Bonnie passed this morning after a long struggle with a bad heart. She took a piece of each of our hearts with her when she left us.

You'll be missed, thank you for the many years you selflessly gave to us. Godspeed babygirl

Very sorry for your loss. They are family.

Meet our new pup Trusty (namesame from "Lady and the Tramp"). My cousin's dog had puppies under one of my dad's outbuildings; we had to get them out. He's about 8 weeks old, and his breed is Yes :D (part Lab, maybe part Spitz, maybe part Australian Shepherd, maybe other stuff). 100% certified mutt. Went from super shy to playing and barking in less than 48 hours. Boy, does he want to be around us!

Here he is riding home with my wife, and napping next to one of my dad's old SC National Guard boots (he passed last July), and rolling in the grass. He's the spitting image of a dog we had 40 years ago; probably a descendant.

I am sorry buddy. We lost Lucy last year right before Thanksgiving and it is rough.

It has been a rough time. Between that and this virus crap, the vets up here sent us this.

We know she's running free and fast again.

This brought me to tears. We had a paw print made in clay and had Lucy cremated. I have seen people do horrible things to one another and it doesn’t cause me to shed a tear. But the bond between a man and his dog are something I cannot explain. It pulls at my heartstrings.

Thank you brother. Yeah, she's being cremated so she can stay with us, and the other mutts.

Clyde misses her too, I think today was the first day he didnt trot around the house trying to find her. He's still just moping around though :(

This always pulls a tear from my eye.

This has been keeping the dog entertained for about a week. She watches the parents fly back and forth to feed the noisy youts.
