Why do dogs like eating rabbit poop so much? Apparently have a few rabbits sneaking in my fence to eat grass. My flipping dog thinks jelly beans or something. If I wasn't in the city limits it would be on.

Female dogs will eat dog crap to "clean" their living area & is apparently an instinctual maternal thing.

To add to that, baby rabbits are born with a mostly sterile gut, they eat poop from their mother to establish gut flora.

Deer, cats, rabbits, chickens, probably skunk, raccoons, opossums, if the dogs nose is in the grass she's getting yelled at, usually comes up chewing something. Never seen her eat horse manure. Rolls in every awful thing she can find too.
As my high school biology teacher put it, the worse it smells the more likely your dog is to eat it.

We had a dog that loved Rabbit gumdrops.
He didn't understand that it gave him hook worm. Our other dog that never ate the gumdrops never got hook worm.
