FG&G today

I listened to the Wake County news conference announcing the shutdown, and I am steamed. Damn county commissioners talking down their nose to citizens, saying what they will be allowed to do or not do. I was OK with hanging out at home before, but now I want to ride around all day and party down. Like Ron Swanson, I have a permit! Ratbastards. Telling everyone they just lost their livelihood, too bad so sad. I really wanted to ask how many county commissioners will be losing their livelihood in the shutdown.
If you get the urge to rampage, please allow me to join you!

The Wake Order states ...

1. Movement or travel of persons in Wake County on and about public places including streets, roadways, and property shall be restricted except for the purposes of Essential Activities. This shall mean that each Wake County resident remains in his/her/their household or residential living unit except as required or permitted for Essential Activities. For the purpose of this Proclamation, Essential Activities shall mean those activities or tasks essential to the support, health, safety and welfare of Wake County residents, including:
a. Engaging in activities or performing tasks essential to their health and safety, or to the health and safety of their family or household members (including, but not limited to, household pets and other animals that are housed at the household or residential unit where they reside ), such as, by way of example only and without limitation, obtaining medical supplies or medication, visiting a health care professional, or obtaining supplies they need to work from home; or
b. Obtaining necessary services or supplies for themselves and their family or household members, or to deliver those services or supplies to others, such as, by way of example only and without limitation, canned food, dry goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, pet supply, fresh meats, fish, and poultry, and any other household consumer products, and products necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences; or

...

So what is their definition of “safety”? While I did not see the press conference it has been reported Baker was asked at the press conference about “gun shops” and he said they were not considered essential. Bet he will have his department enforce confiscation if there’s ever any gun grabbing changes.

Reactions: Me.
Just got back.

Clay is at the door and only allowing so many customers in at a time.

He says he's trying to get gun shops listed as essential businesses and to keep an eye on their Facebook page.

They are flush with reloading supplies (but not any more Power Pistol, I cleaned them out of that). ;)

How much did you buy???
I got one yesterday at closing and there were over a dozen left, and no one looking at the reload section but me.

I grabbed the only 4 they had. There were also a lot of 8 lb. jugs of misc. powders. He must've placed a big order the second he saw the writing on the wall because normally their selection is more limited.

That is true! I don't usually buy primers/powder there. More often than not, I get mine from forum members.
I hear you -- pretty sure I sold you some Bullseye a while back. :D

I've been on the hunt for Power Pistol so I couldn't resist.

This could get interesting ... Clay will be okay with the Fuquay Police but I gotta wonder the King Baker will take exception to Clay’s us in the Pawnbroker card to stay open. After Baker’s crap with the WCFETC I could see him getting his panties in a wad because Clay found a way to keep his business open against the King’s orders. Hell, Cooper could even do the same with his state agents. I truly hope I’m wrong and the idiot(s) leaves Clay and FG&G alone but I would not bet on it.

If pawn shops are considered essential businesses then it’s clear. Heck, I’ve sold more guns to FG than I’ve bought. Their website even made reference to them still being a pawn shop before today. Plus Mecklenburg county declared gun shops an essential business with their county stay home order, and Hyatt’s is open, unless Cooper’s edict usurps that.

Things are a lot quieter today at FG&G. Steady traffic in an out, though. Got to meet @SnowRooster there.
How's the reloading section looking?

Since I am supposedly essential and FGG is essential I may have to get over there and buy something. I don’t really want to spend the $ after ordering a new F’ing fridge, but the temptation is strong.

Just remember guys that FG&G has been good to a lot of us. I went the other day and they have a guy standing outside the door that gives you hand sanitizer and then opens the door for you. I got a little perturbed and turned around and walked back to my truck. Then it hit me that they have been really good to me over the years and that we have some members who are employed there so I want to make sure they had money coming in. We need each other now as much as any time before. Let’s keep those guys employed.

My range is doing something similar. I saw people going in the side door where the range is (but that's closed) a few at a time, but being directed up the steps into the gun store.
The guys outside at the front were letting people into the pawn shop side a few at a time.....and everyone was doing the distance thing. Strange times.

For me, launching box after box into the berm at 25 cents a round is far less attractive than when it was 15 cents each. :(

that’s when ya start shooting 22lr a lot. That’s why I picked up a couple more 22 guns

I got your back, if ya don’t have any 22 firearms is as good as time as any to grab a couple. Plus they are a lot cheaper to buy
Not buying any guns this year, though.....lol.....hence the borrowing.
Next year, a .22 will be my first gun purchase, probably.

That's the spirit!

When I saw prices go up after all this, I did an inventory and found that I am flush with .22 of all sort. A bit here and a bit there adds up! Plenty of practicing fundamentals with mostly .22 for the time being. Being conservative with 9mm.

One of the news letters had WWB 9mm bulk packs at .20 per round. Was probably sold out by the time I opened the e-mail. The last time I paid the much for any 9mm I got a cool steel ammo can in the deal, so it was worth it.

Millie, haven’t you found your Dad’s old .22 yet?
No, but I guess now that I'm stuck here pretty much all the time, I can go on a .22 rifle hunt, right? lol.

I plan to buy a .22 handgun next year.

Stopped by today and picked up some MTM boxes. I don't need them (though I'm currently pushing Ziploc bags to their limits!), but want to keep supporting FG&G.

I bought several of the 100 capacity 9mm boxes. They're the cheapest I've ever seen ($2.99) and beat Amazon by a good amount ($3.99 on Amazon)! A buck ain't much, but it adds up if you reload a bit. :D

I like the 30cal cans... Holee Crapcakes Batman! they were $30 Prime a few months ago, now they're $72!

The 50 cal cans were $22, now they're over $50! I will buy more when the prices drop to a reasonable level... friggin' preppin' hoarders.

I've kept an eye on those for a while waiting for price to drop. Hopefully one day... :(

While I am not sure which one or where they’re located ... one of the larger distributors is shutting down after tomorrow until at least Monday April 20th. I am not sure if that’s just firearms only or includes ammo. This is on top of at least one manufacturer, Smith and Wesson, shutting down part of their Springfield operation after at least one employee test COVID-19 positive.
